We had the good fortune of connecting with Safhari Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Safhari, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well I have a few incomes of my own. I always knew I didn’t want to work for anyone so I already planned to start incomes of my own, especially after a guest speaker came to one of my classes and told us that 7 incomes is the goal to become a millionaire. Hearing that made me want to go harder and I’ve been doing so ever since. I’m in school for Public Relations at Clark Atlanta University so that was my first income of my own, becoming a Publicist. I was blessed with my first client before graduating. A year later I came up with my clothing line called iRoyal Clothing. iRoyal Clothing is a brand I dedicated to a great friend of mine India Aaliyah Royal that was murdered January 13, 2017 due to gun violence. India loved to dance so partial proceeds from iRoyal Clothing are going towards a dance scholarship. Next I have SD Designs. Since I started creating content on my own for iRoyal Clothing I decided to help others who have a hard time being creative. Now I am no expert on the graphic design side, but I am currently perfecting my craft, I can do logos as well. This past September I just got my 2nd LLC for another business I am starting that will launch 2021. I am very multitalented.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Something that sets me aside from others is that for me to be so young I have an amazing work ethic. I put in a lot of work networking just to put myself ahead of others for when I graduate this upcoming May. It may look like everything I’m doing comes easy but it didn’t. I’ve been putting myself out there and setting myself up for success since I was 20 years old, I’m currently 22. Everyone only talk about the ups but never the downs. Because of my success I’ve had people try to tear down something amazing I’m building, that comes with having your own business and I’ve learned that. I’ve also learned that I can’t have everyone a part of what I’m doing because not everyone is genuinely happy for me and that’s okay. The only things that people should know about me is that I have great intent with everything I’m doing in my life and because of that I can’t wait to see where my genuine soul takes me moving forward. I am such a hard worker so I know I’m going far, it’s amazing to watch myself grow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to do activities such as sip and paint, take her to the museums, a nice restaurant/lounge, the Sky View, SixFlags, the zoo, indoor skydiving, walk Stone Mountain. I’m an adventurous person and so are my friends so we have fun doing just about anything.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I couldn’t do everything that I’m doing today without God first and foremost. I have a great support system from my friends, family, and significant other. I do a lot while also still in school so things can become stressful. I wouldn’t be able to handle everything that I’m currently doing without the support from my loved ones. They may not know it, but they are an amazing help.
