We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrena Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrena, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As far back as I can remember I’ve had a desire to have my own business. Much of my career was spent in sales because it gave me a glimpse into being my own boss. I decided when I was laid off from my corporate job I would take the leap and start my own business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business The SMARTIN Agency launched in 2020 under my LLC SMARTIN ENTERPRISES .. our goal is to help businesses show up SMART IN marketing and media with coaching, done for you and digital services. I am most proud of helping entrepreneurs bring their visions to life by providing services ranging from website development, social media strategy, branding development and content creation. My many years in developing relationships and going above and beyond in marketing and sales definitely prepared me and helped to develop a trustworthy reputation. It has not been easy. I started my business at the height of the pandemic so it’s been challenging for business development .. not being able to easily see potential clients face to face. I was able to overcome this challenge with tools and systems to reach ideal clients and stay connected. I’ve learned to not give up even when goals are not being met just remain consistent and continue to learn and develop skills and your ideal clients will come.
I am also a budding influencer and content creator .. I love sharing inspiration/motivation, lifestyle, beauty and natural hair content.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would kick off the week in downtown Augusta taking in candlelight Jazz .. a light stroll on the Riverwatch .. dinner at Beamies and dessert from Boll Weevil
Throughout the week eating at some of Augusta’s best at 5th and Finch, Oliviana’s, Cafe 209, Frog Hollow and Manuels Bread Cafe is a must.
We would take in shopping and sites like the James Brown statue. Springfield church and Park, Augusta Museum .. local shopping and a quick trip to Atlanta and Columbia.. which is what’s great about Augusta because it’s so close to several major cities
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Anthony Martin.. he’s been instrumental in encouraging me to follow my dreams and goals
