Meet Rudolf Martino

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rudolf Martino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rudolf, what makes you happy? Why?
I believe we all were born for a purpose, for personal fulfillment, and to benefit others. So I believe that I live true to my divine, purpose for personal gratification and to make the world a better place. So this makes me happy and content.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It goes back to when I was a youth, I lived in California and attended the Musician Institute, I performed in various clubs. Around 2010 I made a CD it received great responses on the independent airwaves. Some of my earliest music influences where Michael Jackson, Jackie Wilson, Elvis Presley and James Brown just to name a few. Believe it or not I used to be a Michael Jackson impersonator, these people with all of their distinctive looks gave me the initiative to create my own look. So I became a visual artist wearing my art as myself, after leaving the music business I centered my focus on playing billiard/pool. I brought a flare in this sport that is totally unique as a matter of fact, alarming. So my mindset has always been world-class, my personhood (my beard) was a testimonial to my artistry/beliefs about myself and my commitment to excellence.
My process hasn’t been an easy one, because I have gone against conventional and stereotypical images and beliefs in our society, through my beliefs, commitments, dedication, discipline and hard work, I stayed true to myself. I fight and fought all challenges my thoughts are; you will see me on top of the mountain waving or you will see me dead beside it, but I will not stop reaching for my goals and aspirations.
I have learned that most people, are content with average, mediocrity and comfort but the way to greatness is filled with struggle, pain and conflict, but that is the bridge to all great accomplishments.
There many people with different objectives in life, but mine is to make the world a better place, for me, my family and for those of future generations. But most of all, I am fulfilling God’s divine appointment, and when you do the well of God all else takes care of itself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would take them to Golden Temple Vegetarian Cafe, next the Civil Rights Museum. The day is still young, we would go to the StarDome Comedy Club for a few laughs. I will give them a chance to rest from their travels, then take a quick two hour drive to ATL to visit the underground and get fresh juice from Centennial Juice Bar, stay the night and visit the aquarium the next day. Having breakfast at the Waffle House, while there making sure we get our lottery tickets LOL. Take in a little more sites while heading to The Beltline food, Street Art and History Walk, I have heard great things about it. After arriving back from ATL we must go to my favorite Billiards Hall for a full night of shooting pool, laughing and eating. After attending church services the next day, I am exhausted…it’s been a long week, hahaha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to send a shout out to all the men and women throughout the centuries, those who have made the world a better place, those known and unknown. Places like Africa, India, China, and various religions, and for more recent praise, in the here and now, is my wife & son. The books I have read like the bible and philosophy, also the book by Napoleon Hill “think and grow rich” and many unnamed and unknown influences.
