We had the good fortune of connecting with Roshi Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Roshi, what do you want your legacy to be?
I would like my legacy to be that I am somebody people can count on to elevate them. Whether it be in beauty, business, skincare, or cannabis. I want to be remembered as a pioneer in my lane. I want to encourage young people to follow the path to freedom no matter what. Even when it’s hard, especially when it’s hard.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Pretty Cush + Cush Dispensary is a canna spa and dispensary. We operate in a physical location as well as an online store. A lifestyle brand & service, our business strives to remain rooted in giving a luxury experience by providing quality ingredients and products. The goal is to stay boutique and of quality. There were several levels that brought me here but deciding to get into the beauty industry professionally changed my life. Nothing about growth is easy but it was all worth it in the end. You learn as you go but if you prepare the bumps are less harsh. I learned to be prepared, keep my eyes on my own plate, and to stay a student. You’re never done learning. I want the world to know I’ll never water it down. The goal is to build an brand that empowers people. Taste is subjective but one thing you can not deny is quality. Quality is what we stand on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the hood to get chicken wings & bbq, Capital Grille for the lamb chops, and South City Kitchen for everything. Honestly, I like lounges but everybody knows the A has the best stripclubs. The music is great and so is the food. I’d take her to Piedmont Park and bar hopping in the city. All these places are great for people watching and shopping as well. On Sunday we’d go to Negril for brunch. Let’s not forget the spa & nail salon. My favorite is Ben at Eminence in Buckhead.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been the face of my business for a very long time but there are other bricks in the foundation. My family has been not only a driving force but a support system in everything I decide to do. This is very much a family business. I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to them. Without them none of this would be possible.
