We had the good fortune of connecting with Rose Gilliam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ATLANTA Pride small business expo, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor is giving a platform for LGBTQ + to show off their businesses and talents. We encourage businesses to push their self. Being an entrepreneur is not easy. Everyday is something different. You can literally put yourself in a room full of strangers and still be on Top. We literally just want to give opportunities to businesses who are like minded. Networking is the Key to any success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets the business apart from everyone else is that we focus mainly on lgbt small businesses and we open up to non lgbt businesses as well . They are also supportive of the movement. It’s not easy being a event coordinator a lot of people mind set is not like yours. You have to find like minded individuals who see the vision with you .
Not everyone will be happy but you can’t please everybody. We are not giving you a platform to make money. We are giving you a platform to have an experience. Our events are always a vibe. Every event is a learning experience and an opportunity. We’ve learned that honestly a lot of people are in business just for money. And if you are truly in business for money . Then you really have to take a step back and reevaluate your business and strategize. Your biggest supporter is a stranger.
We want everyone to know that every year we are going to get bigger and bigger. We give businesses and creatives space to show they business and or talents. Everyone has to make a name for themselves, you are either watching or joining the movement.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to Halcyon Alpharetta It’s in Alpharetta it’s so many businesses over their and everyone sells almost the same thing . They are not afraid of competition. They make they business stand out by who they are . Halcyon has tons of Bars and restaurants like

We want to thank all of our vendors, Performers, Speakers & Event Staff. With out them there will be no expo. To have everyone get involved and want to be involved in this type of platform is truly amazing. Sometimes its hard to put yourself out there, not everyone has that type of person in they live to keep them motivated. Everyone deserves a little push. We are here to push each other. The amount of love and support we get from everyone is appreciated.
