We had the good fortune of connecting with Rose D’or and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rose, how does your business help the community?
I Totally Believe In Bad Hair Day! For Instance Nurses Save Lives Literally But I Save Nurses Life! You Are Much More Effective At Your Job When Your hair Is Done. It Literally Changes Your Mood! You Can Go From Feeling Blah To Conquering The World.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ive Always Played In My Hair, Growing Up I Wish My Mom Gave Me the Opportunity To Do More With My Hair. By The Time I Was In 7th Grade I Was Known In School For My Unique Signature Hairstyle. My First Haircut Was At The Age Of 16, I Had A Mushroom Cut with The Back Shaved. Most Of The Girls At M School Would Have It In A Weave Form But I Went Full Force And Cut My Hair. I Love Taking Risk… Sometimes I Just Do Not Even Thinking Im Taking A Risk. I Love The Fact That I Was Able To Master Photography Hair And Makeup! This Is What Makes Me A Beautician, I Cater To Ones Beauty By Highlighting Your Best Self. Imagine Being Able To Get Your Hair Done, Makeup And Then The Ultimate Record Of You Being A Baddie Is In A Still Image! Well That’s Me! I Wear Multiple Hats. Ironically I Moved From Boston MA Because The Hair Industry At The Time Had Nothing To Offer Me, So I Moved To GA. The Year Prior I Visited And Attended The Bronner Bro Hair Show And Wow! I Felt So Small Yet Totally Amazed! I Wanted To Be A Part Of That World And I Did Just That! Transitioning Was Not Easy With A Baby Almost No Family Support However I Worked Alongside The Best Mentor I Could Have, Her Name Is Ashley! I Learned So Much And Im Forever Grateful. One Thing Ive Come To Realize Is To Not Only Pick Your Friends Wisely But Its Of The Upmost Importance To Pick Wisely Whom You Choose To Do Business With, This Is Not Referencing To Clients. I Have Been Scammed A Couple Time Trying To Grow My Brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m Actually Waiting On My Best Friend To Visit! I Would Take My Best Friend To The Bike Trail At Piedmont Park, Stone Mountain Has Very Nice Hike. We Would Have Breakfast At Milk And Honey, I would Introduce Her To Grits Because When I First Moved Here 5 Years Ago You Could Not Get Me To Eat It, Now I Love It…With Salt! Eleven45 And Eden Lounge For Hookah & Drinks. Most Definitely The High Museum And The Aquarium, The Coca Cola Factory. I Love New Orleans Food So I’d Introduce Her To Louisiana Bistreaux Atlanta, Ponce Market And We Would Both Go Bust Our Butt At Any Near Roller Skating Spot. Safe To Say I Love It Here, I Love The Trees, We Would Make A Nice Drive To Amicalola Falls State. Im Not A City Girl But I Love The City Still!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I Will Say That Being A Member Of Dope Ass Book Club Has Played A Major Role In My Emotional And Intellectual Intelligence. Im Grateful For Them.
