We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronnesha Sade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ronnesha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Let me tell you a little bit about it first. The On Purpose Planner Journal is a journal and planner all in one. The planner part allows you to plan your day, your weeks, and even your months to help you stay organized. The journal part is a guide to helping you find purpose in life. It comes with encouragement letters, journal prompts, and a self care guide. For me, living a purpose filled life was the thought process behind starting my own business. At first, I never called it a business. I felt like it was just my journey to making sure I lived a life that was full of purpose. I was in a very weird and unfamiliar place in my life when the vision for the On Purpose Planner Journal was given to me. I was upset with myself because I felt like I could not get it right, actually I felt as though nothing was going right. I was questioning myself because I was so unfulfilled so I knew that there was more that God was requiring of me and I knew I was not in this alone. I am also a mental health therapist so I was constantly hearing from other women how they were not living in purpose as well. So from my own experiences and others along with the heart I have for women, I knew I would not be on this journey alone and I had to help others.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
The On Purpose Planner is strictly from the heart, guidance from God, and of course my own life experiences. I usually take about 6 months to just sit with my own journey and write. I want to give authenticity every time someone picks up a planner journal. I want to give them raw and real. I am very transparent and an open book. If it happened, I will tell you about it because I have always believed you never know who you are helping with your own testimony. I am also big on empowering women. I believe that we are powerful and full of purpose but we just need some motivation and a little push with getting it out. I can say that this was not easy. For a minute I had lost motivation and I thought well maybe this was really not for me but then I realized it was. Like I tell others, even when it gets hard you have to keep pushing. Get up and make your own opportunities. Do not sit and wait. Prepare your own table and allow others to pull up a seat. Always remember to know who you are and who you are here to help. I know for me, I am placed here to help women of God tap into their power, smarts, and creativity so they can be intentional about finding purpose in the will of God and walking boldly in it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take her to a nice restaurant and go for a nice cocktail. Also if she was into sports we would go to a baseball game. I also love outdoors so I would take her on a hike.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to God, first and foremost. When he first gave me this vision I was scared. Of course he told me that he would guide me every step of the way and of course that was no lie because I am three years in but I still had so many doubts that it just would not be what was needed for the people. I also want to dedicate this shoutout to every woman that has supported me and continues to support me. Without them, there would not be an On Purpose Planner Journal. Lastly, I want to dedicate this to my mother. She is a huge support system for me, regardless of the ideas that I bring to her. She has been an amazing example of what a woman and mother should be and I hope to be the spitting image of her as I continue to get older and grow in life and in my business.
