Meet Robert T. Hampton | Artist & Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert T. Hampton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert T., can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in Charlotte, NC. I was always back and forward from my hometown and Kingsland, GA; where the other half of my family lives. My upbringing impacted me in ways I’ll forever be thankful for life. I realized at a young age that I’m blessed with the family I have. I have a roof over my head and amazing support system. I always had food and clothes on my back, beyond appreciative. I am blessed and that impacts me the most these days.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I created my business “Remain The House LLC” to remind myself & others that you need to take care of the body or shelter that houses your soul & love. upkeep everything that you would consider home; whether you body, house, or life in generally.

my brand and art is based around uplifting, which I’m very consistent of doing. I love to focus on the positives in life and turn our negatives into positive. I’m not saying that I’m positive all the time, I just appreciate those times deeply. I do understand there’s a balance in life and we learn from not so good moments. With my art, I like to remind people to be grateful for life, especially if we’re are blessed to have the simplest things we take for granted.

The life of an artist and entrepreneur isn’t easy, as it shouldn’t be. There’s a beauty in the struggle. With that being said, I’ve learned throughout this journey that you are your own person. You have to work at your own pace but be consistent with it and don’t give up. I’ve learned that confidence is key to finding more success. Most importantly you have to believe in yourself before you want anyone else to believe you.

I’m beyond proud and excited in this body of work I’m creating titled “UP LIFT” . It’s an album I’ve been working on for almost two years. It’s gonna be unique and different for the average listener. Im coming with otherworldly sounds and vocals filled with emotions and truth. im very excited to share when the time arrives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Charlotte, NC and I believe this place is full of things to do and accomplish. Just roaming the city is exciting and refreshing. The architecture in the city is always evolving and it’s something quite beautiful to look around and snap some photos. There’s art on every block in my eyes. The Art scene in Charlotte is growing faster every week I feel. There’s someone or something always going on each week in that community. Charlotte is also surrounded by all types of activity. My favorite thing to do is visit the nearest mountains and hike with my close friends. Crowders mountains is 30-40 minutes away from the city and it’s the best get away. You can even see the city from far when you get to the top of the mountain. I visit the mountains at least once a week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my nana, Mary Helen Coffee, who recently passed on Oct 7th 2021. She was the greatest woman to ever bless my life, especially during summer, fall, spring, winter breaks. She did any and everything for the family she created. She was the one who put the most clothes on my back, created the best childhood memories, and she made sure I never went hungry. I love her beyond life and miss her dearly.

I’d also like to shoutout my brother Cameron Butler. He’s been a blessing and inspiration to me for over a decade plus. Thanks to him, “shoutout Atlanta” reached out to me for this interview. biggest love to him. thank you.
