We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Curry aka OurSea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi OurSea, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Outside of creative focus and the right opportunity I believe hard work is necessary to developing success. I’ve been working torwards my dream since Freshman year of High School. Music has always been my first love but life has taught me how switch courses and learn other creative avenues. When I got to ATL I had to find a way to support my music career, and that got me started creating custom 1of1 designs.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an entertainment mogul and that means I am responsible for every aspect of presenting the High Class Hustle lifestyle creatively. My latest work is West Coast Petro available on all platforms. It is a song that depicts me at my most broken and convinced I had failed to being carried out of disaster by friends, family, and a dedicated work ethic. My journey has been one of many valleys, challenges, and unfair circumstances, but also one of immeasurable favor. I’ve learned that vision and sight almost never align. Right when you believe in your sight, meaning the way circumstances look, vision interrupts with its on plans to carry me higher. I learned in 6th grade from my math teacher Mr.Otis nothing beats a failure but a try. That saying is poetic in theory but challenging in practice. I’d like to encourage anyone who has vision to try and when you’ve won or learned a lesson reload and try again.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If their plane lands Friday the first thing we will do is go to the pool assuming I’ve grilled. I’d then take them to Cru on Edgewood for drinks. Saturday I’d take them to thumbs up or Milk and Honey for brunch. Saturday afternoon we’d go to the High Museum of art and Saturday evening I’d show them the ATL night life. Probably would refer a lounge or hookah bar. Sunday I’d take them to Change Church, then to peidmont park to ride the belt line with The Pedal Pushers. Sunday afternoon I’d take them to food terminal or little trouble for a different variety of food.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to recognize my parents who’ve made unimaginable sacrifices to put my siblings and I in position to reach any goal we’ve set our minds too. My brother Fred trail blazed a road in ATL for me to follow regarding stability and my sister Amberly prays for me constantly. She also fills the gap where I’m unable to see where I lack. Yafri, Tre Hustle, Louie BAP, Mike 2Timez, Fly Reezy, Chizzle, Yo, and Tony are the original members of HCH. Charlee P and I pushed the clothing brand from 2019 to 2022. I also have to recognize Talk2Pops who gave me my 1st industry experience and Biggie for having me network at several industry award shows.
