We had the good fortune of connecting with Rickie Tang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rickie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work-life balance has become more balanced than before. For the past years, I’ve been prioritizing work over everything. It was all I would think about. Over time the stress can build up and be overwhelming. I have realized that it is also beneficial to have time off and let your mind breathe when it is appropriate. I find it afterward I am more motivated and can create better work. It is easy to get lost in the fast lifestyle that is portrayed on social media. Taking time to meditate, watch a movie, and doing things I enjoy other than working is important. Everyone is running on their own track, so finish it at your own pace, but make sure there is constant progress.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What sets me apart is my ability to give a unique interpretation that fuses together multiple elements and concepts. Growing up trying to constantly find the balance between Eastern and Western culture is why I think now I am able to take in opposing ideas and work them into something with my identity. Nevertheless, I am still in my early stages with tons of room to grow and nowhere near my final destination. Being young and unknowing where life can possibly end up, the limitless possibility excites me the most. I think rejections have been my best lessons learned. They humble me and help me recognize that the road can difficult and long. Must stay focus and enjoy the process of chasing your goals. I will continue to evolve, what is to come in the future should be exciting. I cannot wait to share with the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I recently just had a photoshoot for a final garment from my “Euphoria West” SS22 collection. So my shoutout goes out to my photographer @saarahrobertss and model @jess.bonello. Very happy with the outcome and hope everyone can appreciate it too.
