We had the good fortune of connecting with Rich Rosendale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rich, what do you attribute your success to?
For me, the driving force behind my success and the success of my brand has always been a relentless pursuit of excellence and an insatiable curiosity. Whether it’s perfecting a traditional technique or exploring a novel approach to a dish, I strive to learn and innovate constantly. But at the heart of it all is passion — a genuine love for food, for the stories it tells, and for the people I share it with.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Everything I undertake is culinary-centric, aiming to inspire, and my ventures are always evolving, keeping the anticipation alive.

In Atlanta, I direct food & beverage menus at R3 Rosendale Concepts, a fine dining establishment located at 200 Peachtree Street and also for Rosendale Events, a world-class catering unit, which is also the premier caterer for Southern Exchange Ballrooms – a prestigious Atlanta wedding and event venue. R3 opened its doors in March of 2023 and we are continually evolving our menu to provide fresh offerings that keep our guests excited and wanting to come back for more. Through Rosendale Events, my team and I have executed some of Atlanta’s largest corporate events but also have catered for out-of-state events like the BTS concert in Las Vegas.

I am also planning and preparing for two new upcoming ventures in Atlanta, SKOL Brewing Company, a nordic-inspired brewery, and Valhalla Social, an eatertainment concept.

Outside of Atlanta, I proudly manage a series of establishments including Roots 657, an eat-in and take-out cafe and market, and FORKLIFT, a boutique culinary school and culinary-oriented event venue, both located in the DC metro area. Additionally, we house a state-of-the-art R&D kitchen, the RC Culinary Lab. Our expansive ventures keep our approach fresh and ever-evolving, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always love to kick off my visitor’s trips with a good home-cooked meal in my kitchen, a place I find most intimate and genuine for sharing culinary experiences. We’d begin by selecting a prime 45-day aged ribeye steak from the dry ager in our culinary lab. A trip to a local farmers market would follow, where we’d handpick fresh vegetables for the evening. Back home, I’d fire up one of my cherished grills, the ARTEFLAME, a personal favorite, and as the evening unfolds, serve them local wine to set the mood right.

Atlanta has so many wonderful spots to hang out and things to see. Of course, I would take them to R3 Rosendale Concepts for dinner and drinks but I’d also suggest seeing a sports event or concert at Mercedes Benz Stadium, visiting the Coke Museum or Georgia Aquarium, or even an afternoon stroll on the beltline.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A shoutout is due to my early college and high school teachers who instilled in me a foundation for learning and curiosity. Additionally, my formative years at The Greenbrier were crucial, with several chefs there shaping my foundational skills in cooking. Later on, I was fortunate to be mentored by culinary giants like Peter Timmins, Thomas Keller, and Daniel Boulud, who elevated my skills to new heights. On the business and personal development side, I’m continually inspired by forward-thinking business leaders and thought leaders, who drive me to think bigger and innovate constantly. Furthermore, I can’t stress enough the influence of the book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey in molding my professional ethos.
