We had the good fortune of connecting with Riahna S. Edwards, MS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Riahna S., we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The Scottish philosopher, Thomas Carlyle, once said “Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles… that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.” This quote signifies my journey. My assiduousness guided my yearning for success in redefining excellence.
Risks are inevitable in life. Life is not peaches and cream; if it was then everyone would be living their best lives. Risks are part of growth, change, elevation, and transformation along everyone’s journey. Risks, challenges, obstacles, pressure, and experiences build character. We are here to make positive impacts on society and the younger generations, and most importantly, ourselves. Significance and influence is how we prevail. Often, we are our own biggest critics simply because we are afraid of the unknown, failure, deception, betrayal, and disappointment. Without risks, we can not reach our fullest potential. We must take a leap of faith to reach our biggest rewards. We must have courage, bravery, perseverance, determination, humility, decisiveness, and wisdom; to adapt to change and be spontaneous. Life is a gamble; bet on yourself and just do it. By trusting our own intuition, strengths, assets, resources, experiences, knowledge, education, and power, we are capable beyond measure. The sky’s the limit. The only person who can stop you, is you.
At the age of 21, I took a risk moving to a brand new city without a plan. I did not know anyone, nor had any family or friends. It was just me. I recently graduated and was pursuing my master’s degree. I applied for 10,000 jobs, sent endless emails, drafted many resumes from April 2018 until November 2018. I did not receive a lot of responses, which made me nervous. I remember this feeling all too well. When I was 16 I finally received my first job offer after endless summer applications; I was the last out of my friend group. I was scared and I did not know what to do. Fast forward, I was an adult now, with bills to pay, so I had to figure it out. I took a risk applying for a mundane job to make ends meet. I secured an apartment without doing my due diligence, simply because I did not know the ins and outs of apartment hunting. Nevertheless, I still strived my way into the entertainment and music industry, but it was not easy. Moving to Atlanta, I learned more about myself in only a short period. Due to the risks I’ve endured and the obstacles I’ve triumphed, I was able to discover a better version of myself which is how I made it to the position I am today. My setbacks, low-points, and self-reflection helped propel me forward.

As the CEO and business owner is challenging at times, yet rewarding. I endured hardships before I was able to find my true desire; I intended to be different from societal norms of “perfect” and “just”. Due to my diverse career path, I was able to gain interchangeable skills such as leadership, managerial, communication, organizational, and delegation skills. Perseverance leads me to abundance of personal and professional success. My diligence motivated me to keep going when I faced adversity. Maintaining positive and genuine relationships were essential in my personal and professional development. As a leader, individual brand identity has synonymous value to a business’ brand. I exude the core values of integrity, leadership, humility, respect, communication, commitment, result-oriented, and more which resonates with the vision, morals, and ethics of RExcellence Enterprises LLC.
Redefining Excellence is capable of high performance, high productivity, and exceptional customer service; we elevate and support our clients in their respective professions. A beneficial element is having a virtual client service incubator for entertainment and business creative professionals, equipped and proficient with modern-day technology and social media; which did not affect us during COVID-19. Discovering innovative ways to captivate more clients attention is an everlasting challenge with the gradual increase in competition. However, staying true to our core values and our purpose, we will remain positive and continue to serve our clients.
Our brand promise is customer loyalty and productiveness. RExcellence Enterprises is trustworthy and capable of guiding our clients to level up professionally, personally, and creatively. A company who is honest, reliable, and professional with their clients, are more likely to sustain a loyal clientele; Redefining Excellence. We envision becoming a landmark for outstanding client service and a top performance company within the business and entertainments fields. We will redefine our client’s career longevity, through meaningful and genuine professional business relationships. We are excited to see what the future holds for RExcellence Enterprises. We continue to learn, improve, and grow everyday. We plan to expand our services so we are able to meet the needs of more people by at least 5% each consecutive year.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is a historical city. Commonly, there are commuters and travelers visiting daily; which impacts our driving time. Atlanta is spread out, so a 5-mile distance could take between 5-mins to 45-mins depending on the location, time of day, and if any events or accidents occurred. Having a flexible schedule or strong time management in Atlanta is key. Atlanta always has tours, events, concerts, live performances, and more throughout the year. Many places offer multi-purpose opportunities for the community: prom, weddings, birthdays, baby showers, proposals, business events, sport events, and more.
I would take my best friend to the following places:
