Meet Rhonda Savain | Registered Nurse, Life Coach, 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhonda Savain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rhonda, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
Parenting is one of the most challenging and rewarding tasks. The most important thing I have done to impact my children was to instill confidence, morals, self-esteem and independence. Those four characteristics will be the legacy my children can embrace and pass on to their offspring. First, my eldest child is a 28- year old male with Autism. He was diagnosed at the age of 2 and it has not been easy. Despite his set backs and challenges he lives alone, works and is able to function independently. Although disabled, I instilled manners and bolstered his self esteem. He is quite aware of his deficits, but thrives nevertheless. My daughter is a 20- year old graduate of Kennesaw State University. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in secondary math education and a minor in Dance. She finished High School in 2020 and was unable to have an official graduation because of Covid. While in High School she obtained 39 college credits by participating in the dual enrollment program. As a result, she is graduating from college in 3 years and has secured a full-time job teaching in Buckhead, GA. Children need structure and tough love. It was never my goal to be a friend of my children. As a result, expectations were set high and good manners were not optional. They both had a sense or right and wrong and were mindful of boundaries. I think many parents have stopped parenting. As a result we are raising a moral – less society and the crime, and law-lessness will be a heavy price to pay.

What should our readers know about your business?
A serial entrepreneur, I currently manage or co-manage 4 businesses. I will discuss 2.
1. Ready To Pass Inc. was established in 2003. It is a small solution to a nationwide dilemma. We prepare Licensed Practical Nursing students and Registered Nursing students to pass the nursing state boards called NCLEX®. As president, I co-manage with Derrice Gordon MSN, RN FNP. We are elated to be celebrating our 20th year in June of 2023. We have helped thousands of students become nurses over the past 20-years. In addition, in 2014 we opened Transitions Career Institute LPN School of Nursing, in Flushing, Queens. Our passion for nursing education has enabled us to be pioneers in the field of Nursing Education.
2. Rhondasavain.com – Decisions Life Coaching -was birth out of my desire to help underserved populations. Single women, special needs (Autism), and adolescent coaching are a few of my areas of expertise. Coaching is available virtually as well as mobile.
Managing businesses require dedication, organization and fortitude. It has not been easy. Throughout the years I have suffered many losses and hardships. June 2023 will make my 10 year anniversary surviving Breast Cancer. My strong- will and determination have been essential to help catapult me to success.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would most likely rent a cabin in Blue Ridge Georgia to escape for a few days. While there we will relax, cook out and explore unseen territory. I enjoy Caribbean food so along the way we would stop for a bite. Before we return home, ice cream would be on the list of “must haves.” While on our get away we will take walks and enjoy nature and quietness. Lately crime and craziness have been rampant, Covid is still lingering, so I would prefer private get aways vs pubic hang outs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out would have to go to my mom. When I was young I thought my mom was strict. As I matured, I realized she was not strict she was parenting. A disciplinarian, and tough love type of woman! I love it. I actually became a mini version of her unknowingly. What I love most about my mom was the high standards she always set. At times I felt it was “crazy” but I was able to exceed most of the goals. Most of my success and accomplishments are attributed to me observing my mom work hard. The statement “children learn what they live” is so true. She was an excellent role model and I would have to give my “shout out” to her.
