We had the good fortune of connecting with Ren of 4VR and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ren, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Music is a full time job. It’s more than music, is building and maintaining a brand and always trying to find new was to reinvent yourself. It’s a full time job that doesn’t pay you every day until you start reaching higher levels. It takes everything you’ve got to make this happen.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Cesar: We named ourselves 4VR because we can adapt to any style or genre of music, as a unit. We always stay true to our sound, but the point of all of our projects is for each one to be a different mode. If you listen to our first project to now, you’ll see the progression and versatility, stylistically is undeniable. I think that separates us from more than most.
Ren: What he said, but what also separates us from our peers, or other artists in the industry is that, we are humble, approachable, and always are willing to learn. That is so important because with that we can continue to grow into better, well-rounded musicians, collaborate with anyone, and make sure we put our best foot forward.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The studio is our favorite place to be, and it’s always a good time, so we would take a trip there. There are way too many places in Philly to get food and drink, but my personal favorite is a rooftop bar called Attico. There is always something to do, but besides going to venues and such to support friends or even perform ourselves, we stay working on our music, or home relaxing. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
@7Minutes2La deserves so much recognition in our story because they provided us with not only the craziest beats in Philadelphia, but a creative team, and friendship. We recently put together 3 music videos, a lyric video and a full album and have a nice chunk of change to promote it properly when before we met, 4VR did everything by themselves, and it was draining the life out of us. They deserve so much credit.
