We had the good fortune of connecting with Rejiane Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rejiane, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me, creating a business that is meaningful not just to me but for others was very important. I wanted to use my passions to fuel everything I touch in business. Initially I wasn’t sure which one of my many passions would be the one to “stick” and be the thing I pursue long term. My business journey started in 2018, when I launched my beauty brand Jiané Beauty. This business has now been transferred to my daughter who shares a similar love for make up and cosmetics. Since then, I’ve launched 2 more businesses. Divinely Empress, LLC, is my Spiritual based business. Here, we provide energy readings by way of Tarot and Mediation Sessions. We also create manifestation, aroma therapy & body care products. Divinely Empress is known for healing the Mind, Body & Soul. Following Divinely Empress, I have a management company called, Black Opal Management & Companies, LLC. This business consists of event curation in which we hold Festivals and various Networking Events to allow up and coming Artists, Performers of all kinds and businessmen & women, the opportunity to share their presence, talents & businesses. In addition to event curation we are also a consulting company, assisting other small businesses and artists of all kinds pursue their dreams and providing advice on the proper steps to do so. These businesses not only fuel my passions but are meaningful because they give me the opportunity to share my gifts and talents with other people to benefit them.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Currently, I have two active businesses and I believe what sets me apart is my innovative mindset. I am always looking for a way to be different or add my own spin to whatever I create. Although the industries that I am in appear to be saturated I find that by me continuing to add different ideas and a creative spin to my work, I continue to stand out. With both my spiritually based business; Divinely Empress & management company; Black Opal Management, my energy, presentation and what I offer my audience is what sets me apart. My events for example are not traditional pop up shops or performance show cases, I throw Festivals. This includes, shopping, all type of entertainment performances, guest speakers and all around great vibes. We push audience participation at our events as well. Everyone has the opportunity to be seen, heard, thrive & walk away with something of value while working with me and that is extremely important. Getting to this point has been quite the journey. I launched my initial business in 2018 and now in 2022, I am finally in a place where I feel my progression and all of the years of hard work and effort is beginning to pay off. For those entrepreneurs out there who are just starting and feel discouraged, understand this is a journey and a marathon. KEEP GOING! It will be worth it! I overcame a lot of my challenges, whether financial, inspiration or resources by having continued faith and refusing to give up. If I knew I needed to make more money to invest into my business, I found a better job or another way to gain income so I was able to comfortably invest into my brand. If I was struggling with motivation, I would remind myself of my WHY and that all of my efforts will one day pay off for the better. Lessons I have learned along the way are to never rely on people you know to support you. Your family and friends are not your audience the majority of the time. Of course this is not the case for everyone, but your biggest support will come from strangers so KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE. Another lesson is to never give up on the dream despite what you come up against, this is a marathon and you will eventually get to the finish line, but persistence is key. One thing I would like the world to know about my brand is that everything I create comes from the heart and is shared in effort to better the collective in more ways than one.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Like most people the entrepreneurship journey can be a bit lonely, however, I do have a few people that have been extremely supportive during my journey. My grandmother, great aunt and sisters have been my biggest supporters over the years. They understand my journey enough to allow me to create and support every endeavor I have ventured into. Of course, I have to shout out my clients and customers who have been with me from day 1, I can’t thank them enough. My best friend, she has been my rock on some of my worst days, encouraging me as I come across those cloudy days. Knowing that I have people who genuinely enjoy what I offer, create and truly believe in what I am doing is extremely meaningful to me and the gratitude I share for those around me is unexplainable.
