We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Sunshine Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Regina Sunshine, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a little town called Tabor City, NC. I grew up with a tremendous village that loved and encouraged me but also held me accountable to high standards. When I was successful, everyone cheered for me. So I knew my decisions were bigger than me. I was living dreams for those who loved me and who believed in me but never had the chance to live their dreams. And I never wanted to let them down. When I won, we all won, and I wanted those wins for all of us.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love people. It’s who I am. It’s how most people know me and how I got the name Sunshine. I’ve spent my life serving, giving and supporting the efforts of so many organizations that are doing great hands on the ground work in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. In 2017, I founded Regina Sunshine Global Network for the sole purpose of leaving the community better than we found it. It is my dream and the culmination of my life’s work. RSGN is on a mission to provide Education, Media, and Community Initiatives that deliver a positive message and create lasting change. Under Education, we provide Coaching, Classes and Content for personal growth, i.e. Public Speaking Classes, Self Image Coaching, Personal Development Books, etc. Under Media, we provide Production Services and Programming that is community building and family friendly, i.e. The Regina Sunshine Show, Focus Forward with Robin, etc. Under Community Initiatives, we host Programs and Events that target specific demographics for empowerment and growth, i.e. The Awesome Girl Project, Curvy & Confident Empowerment Week, etc. Our future plans include a physical location for the Awesome Girl Academy and a Community Co-Sharing Space for collaborations and events.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother Geraldine Gore and my late grandmother Elizabeth Alford believed in me and spoke life into me daily. They told me I was smart, beautiful and amazing and that I could do anything I set me mind to. I never lacked belief in myself because all I ever heard were words of affirmation. I stand on the shoulders of these two spiritual giants, and I have no excuse but to be great. They are why I am who I am and have achieved what I have achieved.
