Meet Reggie Kimble | Host and Founder of the StickMen Podcast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reggie Kimble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reggie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to do something that I truly loved. After over 25 years in corporate America, its past time for me to do something, not for the money but the love of it. Also, I wanted to serve as an educator for those less knowledgeable regarding my industry of choice.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a 20-year Cigar Lifestyle enthusiast and have spent the past 20 years working in Technology before branching out to focus on building StickMen, which I launched on New Year’s Day of 2020. Throughout my corporate career, I have often been asked to lead the charge from a public speaking standpoint so creating this platform along with driving all of our Social Media engagement has been second nature for the most part. An earl passion in life was journalism and media, so creating the niche media outlet around StickMen represents an opportunity for me to return to an early passion in life.
The StickMen Podcast is an Interview style podcast (with Cigar and Whiskey Reviews mixed in) focused on bringing the local influencers in Cigars and Whiskey to the forefront of the Cigar and Whiskey lifestyle. It’s not necessarily about the Puff or the Sip…. It’s about the people and relationships created in life while Puffing, Sipping and Chatting.
As we’ve evolved over the past year, the local Atlanta Cigar Lounges have come to view us as a media outlet focused on the local cigar lifestyle but with a critical twist… we’re actually part of the Cigar Lifestyle. We are simply StickMen promoting other StickMen. The response has been tremendous as I receive Instagram messages regularly requesting that StickMen come out and cover their location. There are over 140 Cigar Shops in Atlanta alone with events taking place on a nightly basis. Our only issue is scale.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Great question!
As a “Brother of the Leaf”. I would likely end up spending time at some of the great local cigar lounges in Metro Atlanta and so many great places to eat, we would be busy!
– For cigars, my favorite locations are Havana Cigars ATL, Smyrna Village Bourbon and Cigar, Jay’s Cigar Lounge and The Patio (when I want to turn up a bit)
– I have a few staple restaurants that I would want them to experience along with me such as Bar Taco, Barcelona Wine Bar, Mary Mac’s Tea Room and Eight Lounge for Sushi
– Most of my friends are into golf and being an avid golfer myself, we would likely spend our mornings out at one of my favorite courses in the area, Cobblestone Golf Course in Kennesaw.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people have played a role in my journey that is on-going but I would say my father has had the greatest impact by just being a sounding board for critical decisions both professionally and personally. When you don’t have the experience, you should not be afraid to lean on those who do!
