We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebe, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe it’s my authenticity. Since the onset of my journey my main goal was to stay authentic as an individual. I never wanted to portray myself as anything less or more than I am. My initial goal was not to be recognized for what I was doing, I was just led by what felt truest to me, and that was to share what I believe to be my gift. Staying true to myself to my main goal of that honestly is what I think a lot of people liked about it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After my grandmother passed, I had a conversation with someone that I believe to be successful with his own gift & it motivated me to share mine regardless of any fears I may have had. So I decided to share a poem a day on my socials for 30 days straight. You know as like my honor to her. I started with about 4,000 followers on IG and about 20 followers on TikTok. Within 48 hours of my first TikTok had gained 22 thousand followers and by day 30, Instagram had reached 30 thousand followers on the dot, I took it as a sign to keep going. I think what sets me apart is I’ve literally amassed this momentum from the shoulders up, in the drivers seat of a car. No fancy production. I’m also really proud to have done all this all from my mind & heart. I want to encourage so many young girls in this day & age that you don’t have to show so much.

While the initial 30 days wasn’t necessarily hard, the journey to keep going without exactly knowing my next steps has required new levels of faith and discernment. It has opened so many doors for me but not every door has been meant for me. I’ve failed so many times, taking the wrong next step.

To overcome these challenges I realized I just gotta keep stepping. I’d rather take 100 wrong steps than to not step at all.

One big lesson that I’ve learned is that there is an incredible domino effect that happens when you double down on yourself. Once I began to apply wisdom to the calling of my heart the opportunities I’ve been awarded have exceeded anything I could ever have imagined for my life.

I would like the world to know that no matter how rough your experience may be, no matter how adverse your circumstances have been, there is something amazingly beautiful in store for you. We don’t always understand why things happen but everything is always happening FOR us we just have to find our deepest faith, keep it with us and never let what happens in our lives stop us. I want to see everybody keep going you know? Find the silver lining. There’s always a whisper in our soul telling us to keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Cleveland, so if we’re talking Cleveland I say the Botanical Gardens, the art museums, I love Grille 55 to eat at, on the go I love KafeLa. Downtown Cleveland around Euclid & 4th is a fun area. I love HighVibrations Spa in Beachwood for my beauty needs. Honestly there’s so many hidden gems in Cleveland. As far as Atlanta I’m still learning where I love to go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmother Frances Lumpkin. June 18th 2022 is when she passed. It shifted something in me that inspired me to take a step out on faith with what I thought my purpose may be. I still mentally imagine conversations with her when making a decision for what steps to take next. Other than that, my circle in general, the people close to me that affirmed me, supported, proof-listened to my poetry all that. I love my people so much.
