We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymond Oluigbo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raymond, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When starting my company, I was in the midst of frustration and inspiration. I was experiencing a work culture that I was not necessarily meshing with, yet saw the opportunity and potential in the business itself. Instead of expecting things to adhere to my preferences, I decided to use my discomfort as motivation to start my own business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As March rolled in, so did the layoffs. I found myself on the chopping block, another casualty of the ever-shifting tech landscape. But amidst the despair, I saw an opportunity to pivot. Instead of dwelling on the loss, I poured my energy into my local moving business, Protect the Nest LLC. It wasn’t just about survival; it was about protecting what mattered most: my livelihood, my passion, and the community I served. Sometimes, the toughest moments lead to the most rewarding journeys. For any moving/handyman/cleaning needs please contact us and help keep us on our cause.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For breakfast, I would recommend eating Flying Biscuit and grabbing some Boba to accompany it. For lunch, check out Joino’s Deli for a freshly made beef burrito. You could finish off with Toyin for dinner but it will take you out to Marietta area!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my family and close friends specifically, for aiding me wherever they could in the startup process.
