We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymond Nwoha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raymond, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

Graduating as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and one of the top best five in 2009/2010 from Imo State University Nigeria , I already knew that Securing Job in Nigeria is a matter of Godfatharism. So I decided to create my own “world”. And in this world is where I have planned to build wealth, then establish health and research Center for malaria vaccine and some cancer therapeutics to save humanity from these two deadly sicknesses before I get to 45/50 years

As a young boy at 6, I started kerosene retailing with 4 liters and expanded to 100 liters within 6 months though  under my mother’s supervision.

You see, business is in my DNA. Financial management is innate. So What I then did after graduation was to harness my hobbies and turned them into money making ventures. Then I used the salaries received during my one year internship and open my company – Raynonzo Company Limited. In order to be proficient, I enrolled to study management in Nigeria Institute of Management, did online course on graphic design with University of Brazil Campinas and also garnered creative and essential skills like Tailoring and Not less than 5 skills in Interior Deco. And that is why and how You’re able to find me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My business is registered in Nigeria in 22nd February, 2012 with the name, Raynonzo Company Limited. The Head office is domiciled in Federal Capital Territory Abuja. We render the following services: (1) Fashion and Textiles (Luxury cloth making both English and African Couture for male and female , fabric sourcing and dealer with Nichemtex, the largest and best textile company in Nigeria) (2) Interior Decorations – Here we do total soft finishing of offices and houses , from Ceiling, wall coverings, Flooring, lightings, and Furniture. We do both Luxury and non Luxury. (3) Automobiles – We Import foreign used cars, Upgrade, and also help citizens dispose their used cars using our platform (4) Design and Brands – We design business tools for clients like logos, letterheads, business contents, and car/object branding. (5) Apprenticeship/Training Programs

The following sets me apart from others, (1) Honesty (2) Consistency (3) Innovation and (4) Competence/detailing .

I am most Proud of my ingenuity and excited about innovations especially when I’m the one inventing it or first to introduce it to my locality.

To be honest, I started by selling some of the suits I made for my self while in the last year in the University which many people found attractive. I raised over a hundred thousand naira and used the money to get more fabrics and made more suits. I moved to Abuja where I came in contact with Myriam El Rufai the CEO Elmar Concept and Resources and she leased her company to me. Imagine managing a company immediately after graduation though we were not inducted by then and I haven’t even done my internship or National Youth service Corpse. There began my practical knowledge of corporate management at advanced level. There also,  I get to build business network in Abuja before I then enrolled for my internship in 2011 where I saved money and then opened my company in 2012. Based on my outstanding business principles as mentioned earlier, I had and still have potential and reputable clients and customers whose patronage has brought me this far. And of course one man amongst the customers who stands out due to the fact he happens to be the only one who gave me financial support when I went into importation (Mr Victor Ihebinike) .

Well, it wasn’t easy to get to where I am today but it is possible because I was Determined and focused, Hardworking and Honest to my clients and customers, Good communication and relationship with my customers, Detailed and innovative in my work, and of course Prayers.

Lessons learned along the way are: (1) Failure and Challenges  are leadways to Success. (2) Level of Knowledge about the business, financial and work input, Innovations, and Risks taking / management are proportional to the level of the success achieved (3) Slow but steady is the Journey. It builds you better and the business. (4) To be Updated and innovative gives you an edge over rivalries. (5) And of course I learned that no one can do it better but you , yourself!

I want the world to know that I am here to make a difference. For our business mission is to build humanity via Research,  sustainable investments and exploration. We want to create wealth to enable us create a research platform that will save humanity from cancer and malaria.
