We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Abram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work/life balance is an interesting topic for me. As the father of three boys it has at times been a challenge to find the right balance between business and family. Realizing that it is important for me to spend as much time as possible with my children as possible, I also always felt the pull of the many priorities brought about by my business ventures. Over the years, as my children have become young adults I find that my time has been freed up a bit now that I have additional drivers. Also, they are at the age that they don’t always want dad around. LOL!

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a networking coach. I show entrepreneurs how to become known, liked and trusted by the right people, so their business can grow. What sets me apart from others is my years of research on the art and science of networking. Many others just teach you tactics. If you want to really be understand the strategy around building a powerful network, my training and courses are what you need. I’ve gotten to where I am through a lot of hard work and experimentation. I went in field myself to try out all of these strategies before adding them to my curriculum. Along the way I learned that it doesn’t matter how much you know if no one knows that you know it. Marketing has been my biggest challenge. What I want the world to know that no matter how shy, uncomfortable or awkward you may feel in social settings, there is a solution for you. By following my trainings you can see a marked improvement in your networking skills within a week.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I spend much of my time (pre-pandemic) at The Gathering Spot. I also love The Consulate for it’s artistic vibe and cool conversations. On Friday nights I can usually be spotted at Cook Hall in Buckhead or during the week at Fellaship in Castleberry Hill.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Wife, January Abram. Without whom I wouldn’t be able to do any of this.
