We had the good fortune of connecting with Rashidah Latimer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rashidah, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Show Up. Rise Up. POWER UP.

This quote came from the roll out of my first book Power UP – Releasing God’s Power Into Your Life. It means/represents strength, hope, courage and perseverance on so many levels because this is exactly what I would tell myself every time that I was challenged mentally or spiritually durning the process.

Show up, for yourself in whatever capacity your soul whispers/urges you to lean into each day. Rise up, because this life is a constant uphill battle + there is so much more in you – Rise + Show the world all of YOU. Power Up, because the world needs..pause..YOU NEED your unique essence, strength, story, truth..All Of You because what the world won’t tell is that there is Power in YOU. Show Up. Rise Up. Power UP – in all ways, always!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rashidah is a powerhouse entrepreneur. She’s a pubic speaker, author, hair artist and importantly, a mom! She’s deeply rooted in her faith, which can be seen across everything she’s involved in. Her work centers around women’s empowerment through channels of beauty, prayer, events and her self help book Power Up – Releasing God’s Power Into Your Life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s so many gems in Philadelphia. We would have to stop at Reading Terminal for breakfast, followed by a full spa day at The Four Seasons or The Underground Spa. After a day of relation we would stop at a museum then end our night at Harp & Crown for a beautiful dinner paired with great wine and bowling..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Brandon Williams – My Husband
Karima Latimer- My MOMMA
Jahi Davis – DAVIS&DAVIS Advisors
Sierra Ivee – Ivee League HQ
