We had the good fortune of connecting with Ranijeon Shepherd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ranijeon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before I began naj-iD, I noticed a lack of Gen Z Wardrobe Stylist in Atlanta, GA. Therefore, I began my wardrobe styling services with the thought of filling what I feel is a fashion void. Fashion is a constantly evolving thing, & I want Atlanta to be in the center of its evolution.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Fashion instilled itself in me at a very early age. The passion for it just grew stronger over time. Along with the confidence to create things that I love. You would think the creative process is something that you could just spit out. Yet, it takes alot of patience & diligence. This is my key to thriving. Styling is a very conceptual, & challenging game that I love to play. As options in fashion are boundless. Over the years, I have learned that as long as I stay passionate & determined; I can reach my biggest dreams. Which is why I continue to strive harder everyday, overcoming multiple obstacles in the fashion arena.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to have fun! Luckily Atlanta has an array of things you could do. From me & my friends jamming out at Open Mic every Wednesday @ Peter Street Station. Trying the chicest restaurants like Storico Vico. Or even dancing the night away at Revery VR Bar. It is always a vibe out here to find.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout-out my family, the entire AUC, & my close group of friends, who are also creatives.
