Meet Randy Randolla | Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Randy Randolla and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I first started out shooting photos I never imagined doing that as a profession. I was just shooting my shoe collection and friends.
Eventually things started picking up and it came to a point where i was seeing the potential in where things could go. I took a photo job at a car dealership but eventually had schedule conflicts which initially is what made me decide to start my own business where i had more control over things like that
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I never thought that i would make a living doing what I love to do behind the camera. I like shooting lifestyle vibes & vlogs. Fashion and music related content for the most part. Being from Milwaukee, it is hard to get into those circles due to not many opportunities available in the area. So getting out of the small city and networking was a huge part of how things goto where they have for me.
When I first started my business I thought that people would just come to me like “Hey! lets work” but its NOT sweet. Its a lot of grinding involved. Alot of front end costs & random situations. Its easy to get discouraged but one thing you never do is give up. Stick to the plan and consistently focusing on end goals keeps
Sometimes you don’t realize some doors you’re walking through were the same doors you were dreaming of before. i try to live in the moment and look at the big picture. Nothing about having my small business has been easy but I cant picture me doing anything else so I feel like it is meant to be. I come from a single parent household with no help so every small win is a big win for us.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is alot of things to do in Milwaukee! Depending on the time of year there is different things I would get into!
Definitely start the day off getting some breakfast! i love the local spots I usually goto Benji’s. After breakfast we gotta hit the Wave Factory. Thats the best studio in the city for creatives so its a mandatory stop. id hit some clothing boutiques and see whats new! Hypeboys, Icon & Moda 3 are on the hit list, those are the best spots in Milwaukee for the clothes!
Also swing through the MKE public market & third ward Id probably show them the Art Museam and pull up to a Bucks game. Milwaukee is known for Beer, cheese & Brats so i would take them to the MKE Brat House (if thats what their into) Definitely gotta stop at this local Ice cream spot called Isa’s,
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My motivation is my mother! Without her I probably wouldn’t be the person and the grinder I am today! She keeps my head on striaght & I can discuss anything with her! Im constantly motivated by the people around me elevating everyone around them every day!
Shout out my guy Shake, He consistently shows what its like to be a good leader in the community I live in. Always consistant!
& Shout out to Phillyflyboy for linking us! he has been one of the best people to work around in my field when it comes to learning how to shoot clean as well as how to speak and communicate in situations that I haven’t dealt with
