We had the good fortune of connecting with Rambo Rowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rambo, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a photography career for the love of the art. The love of capturing a moment in time, the fulfilling feeling of taking a photo as clear or even more clear than the human eye. The subject can vary, whether it’s humans, plants, animals, landscapes, or products. Capturing a photo is like capturing time, stopped for just a moment. In every way it’s a time capsule. The essence of photography is important for humanity and history, and is crucial to have a physical copy of a moment in time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My energy is what sets me part from others. The wavelength that I operate from combined with the creative eye I have behind the lens creates a safe space for the subjects of my photos and adds to the overall experience. That energy can be captured when cultivated the right way. I’m proud of how far I’ve came. I’m proud of myself for being consistent and persistent. I’m so proud of the connections I’ve made, the network that I have built that has also built me. This journey has granted me so much knowledge and perspective. I think about how I used to think and shoot in the beginning until now and I’m thankful for this journey.
On a professional level, I am where I am now by being unapologetically myself. Giving the things I couldn’t control to God and watching what was meant for me be attracted to me. I’ve had friends, family, and support that kept me going, that gave me hope and confidence to continue on. In no way has it been easy but its rewarding to watch the visions in my mind and the mind of those I work with come to fruition.
I’m a rebel at heart. Rambo represents a side of me that pushes through closed doors, and creates the space I long to be in instead of waiting to be invited there. My brand, and my photography reflects who I am as a person. I shoot, I model, I edit, I study, I embody art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colony Square, playa bowls , Velvet Taco, lotta frutta, just add honey, magic city, Edgewood pizza, Brooklyn tea, black coffee Atl, local green Atl, fresh smoothie cafe, 333 Peters street station, love at the underground, Piedmont park, belt line

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There is plenty of family, friends, and even clients who play a major role in my journey, that I always give thanks too. If it were one person I would have to say it is D-Jehiah Smith. In 2021, my car was broken into (sadly typical Atlanta), and my camera and other valuable equipment was stolen out of my car. In the midst of building my name and brand, this took a toll on me. I questioned if it was worth it to start over. D-Jehiah saw something in me I don’t think I saw in myself at the time. She loved my work, and wanted to see my push through this. She gifted me a new camera, asking for nothing in return except that I continue. Her gesture of kindness ignited a spark in me, as I was able to restart, taking pictures not only professionally but diving into my own creativity as well.
