We had the good fortune of connecting with Rahim PrinceHanson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rahim, why did you pursue a creative career?
Why I chose a artistic/ creative career is because I get to be myself and express my thoughts through my work and being able to have control and freedom. Also me choosing to become a music producer was something out of the love and the passion I have for music since young I always been fascinated with music I used to sing as a child and play the euphonium in elementary school so musics been something I fell in love with for young so I also decided why not pursue something I love rather than being depressed in a field just because the salary pays well .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is that I was born missing 2 of my middle fingers but it does not affect me I can still hold and lift like any other person but in others eyes they see me as someone who is disabled. Reason I work hard to show people if you really want something you can get it no matter what the circumstances are. I can say that I’m proud for producing a few songs on the TME mixtape that’s going to be released some time im still waiting for the release date but that one’s a good achievement for me because I’ve always wanted to work with jay critch and I finally got a chance to work with him. Lessons I’ve learned along this journey as a music producer is you got to really put the work in you cannot be lazy or you will not get to where you need to be there’s always a new producer every day waiting to knock you off your spot so you gotta really put that work and and continue to grow and get better and also collaborate with peopel cause that’s a big way to network and also get your foot in the door . I want everyone to know me for my beats and my catchy beat tag ! Vince Carder what you cooking up !!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Toronto and Jamaican culture is very popular out here so I gotta go with my patty time there oxtail is just phenomenal and there food is off the chain

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my boy Glo man because if it wasn’t for him I’d probably not of been making beats because he was the one who introduced me to the FL studio program and got me into making beats
