We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Puckett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what do you attribute your success to?
Hi! I’m able to be successful because I have a wonderful supporty system that allows me to follow my passions. But what makes my body of work successful is the love and intension I put into it while ensuring the client’s vision is executed. I love talking with clients and getting to know them. I see them as partners and friends instead of clients. By sharing ideas, coming up with design elements and carefully selecting the flowers, I believe I’m able to create one of a kind florals that bring delight to my clients. I am sincerely honored to be part of those special life moments with my clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Arrangements by Rachel is a modern bespoke floral and event design company. I am completely involved in every aspect of planning, design and execution. From the client’s initial meeting to the final product, every detail is handled by me personally. I put love, thought and a fresh aesthetic into each design.

I’m so proud how the business has grown. I started off doing small every day occasions arrangements and have moved into full floral installations, fine art projects and modern luxury weddings. Through networking, being genuinely excited and happy for my clients, and coming up with interesting and different takes on floral design, I’ve been allowed to showcase my talents and skills.

AbR is all about beauty, intention and making people feel happy and loved.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am such a homebody!! I have a wonderful husband and two daughters so I try to spend as much time with them as possible when I’m not working so I don’t know any cool new places. However, there are a few places I remember loving and still go to that I’m obsessed with. As a florist, I obviously love the Botanical Gardens and jump at any chance to go there.

If someone has never been to Atlanta, I am taking them to Willy’s Mexican Grill to get a burrito, Mellow Mushroom to get pizza and Houston’s for dinner.

I love exploring Virginia Highlands and Inman Park. You can grab something to eat, drink, go shopping and get a great feel for the Atlanta area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom. She loved flowers. She passed away several years before my wedding but I wanted to incorporate her favorite flowers into my wedding florals. On my wedding day, I attached a locket with a bee on it and a picture of my mom inside. While shooting bridal portraits, a bee landed on my bouquet that adorned the locket. I saw it as a sign my mom was there that day and later saw it as a calling.

The other person that was crutial in getting me started in the wedding industry is Jacin Fitzgerald. She was my wedding planner and taught me so much during the planning and design process. I loved the idea of having flowers tell a story and wanted to dive deeper into that idea after my wedding. She turned from wedding planner, to friend, to mentor. She took me under her wing to learn more about flowers and design. I am forever grateful to her.
