We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, every day, we know how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was widowed twice before I was 31 and I wanted to help the girl who was the younger version of me

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Never Alone Widows apart is that we don’t just serve widows—we call widows into healing, wholeness, and purpose. We don’t believe widowhood is the end of a woman’s story; we believe it’s the place where God can begin to write a new chapter of restoration. What makes our approach unique is that we minister to the whole woman—spirit, soul, and body—offering not only grief support, but deep inner healing, discipleship, and community. We’re not afraid to step into the messiness of grief with bold hope.

What are you most proud or excited about?
I’m most proud of the thousands of women whose lives have been transformed through Never Alone—who have found their voice again, rediscovered their calling, and learned to walk in freedom. I’m excited that what started as one retreat has now become a national movement with a vision for 500 local groups across America. We are equipping widows not only to heal, but to lead, to speak, to mother others, and to build the Kingdom with the authority of those who’ve been through fire and found Jesus there.

How did you get to where you are today in business/ministry?
I got here because I lived it. I was widowed twice before the age of 31. I know the ache of being both heartbroken and held at the same time. I know what it feels like to wonder if joy will ever come again. But through the faithfulness of God, deep inner healing, and the love of people who stood with me, I found my voice again—and that voice became a calling to lead other widows into the same hope. This wasn’t a business plan—it was a sacred assignment. One step of obedience at a time, Never Alone was born.

Was it easy?
Absolutely not. Building anything that matters never is. There were seasons of loneliness, spiritual warfare, exhaustion, and deep personal sacrifice. There were moments I wanted to quit. But every single time, I remembered the woman on the other side of our work—the one sitting in her pain, wondering if she’s been forgotten. And I knew I couldn’t stop. I knew she was worth it. God kept calling me back to the vision.

How did you overcome the challenges?
I surrounded myself with wise counsel, stayed rooted in prayer and the WORD, and let grief become my teacher, not my identity. I learned to lead from a place of presence, not performance. Most of all, I trusted that God would breathe on what I surrendered, and He has—again and again.

What lessons have you learned along the way?
I’ve learned that brokenness is not a disqualifier—it’s the birthplace of power. I’ve learned that obedience in the hidden places matters more than applause in the spotlight. And I’ve learned that community heals what isolation tries to destroy. You don’t have to have it all together to lead—you just have to say yes and stay surrendered.

What do you want the world to know about your brand and story?
I want the world to know that Never Alone Widows is a movement of women who are rising from the ashes. It’s not just a ministry—it’s a sisterhood, a sanctuary, and a launching pad. Our story is not defined by loss—it’s defined by resurrection. We are proof that joy is possible again, purpose is still alive, and widowhood is not the end of the road. In fact, for many of us, it’s where God began a new and beautiful work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh me..Alpharetta for sure! We live in downtown and have found the greatest spots! Monkey 68 is our absolute fave. The Hotel Avalon would be the best place to stay and then a meal at Rumi’s not missing the Persian ice cream! Superica for sure for queso and a spin through Monkee’s for a cute dress to wear out to Oak. I LOVE to thrift so of course a Goodwill spin off Mansell and you must hit Twisted Thread and Finer Consigner for the best pre owned goods in Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give all the credit to Jesus. I am nothing without his power in my veins. The book Emotionally Healthy Spitrituality by Pete Scazerro changed my life. It opened my eyes to emotional health.
