We had the good fortune of connecting with Qurtrun Boyce-Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Qurtrun, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk can be scary! But some reason, I’ve always been a risk taker even as a kid. One of my favorite quote is by Dr. Maya Angelou; “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure! We have to learn to get out of owe way and learn how to take risk.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Experience is a good teacher! I’ve been a student of life as well as a teacher. Ive always challenged myself to step out on faith. I am a professional career person who’m worked with the public for over 25 years and because of that, I learned how to be humble, kind, patient, respectful and understanding when it comes to customer service. I when I decided to start my cosmetic business, I was able to apply all those skills and make sure that my customers knows that I care about them as a person over making a sale.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
On long weekends, some of my favorite things to do is to go-hiking, visit a winery, I enjoy going to North Ga mountains to do some sightseeing or horseback riding, book a cabin or you can find me sitting on the beach all day… just embracing God’s grace. In my relaxing downtime, that’s what I enjoy doing the most and when I want to just let my hair down and wild out lol New Orleans or Vegas here I come. I’m not hard to please, I just enjoy the simple things in life and i try not to take things or people for granted.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I know this may sound cliché but , I would like to first take the time to remind myself how proud I am of me!! Starting a business takes confidence and faith and along the journey of becoming an entrepreneur, fear sets in. The key is to keep pushing forward even when you make mistakes. My biggest supporters has been daughter, my sisters, my friends and family and all my QuTe lips supporters. I thank God for having an amazing team. I couldn’t have done this without them.
