We had the good fortune of connecting with Queen Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Queen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business is to make people feel confident while they’re wearing there Regent Eyewear frames. Regent Eyewear gives off a euphoric feeling in what ever pair you plan on wearing, i wanted to give all women and men something that they could call their own. In today’s fashion eyewear/ sunglasses plays a big part in your outfit and it helps you brings more confidence in yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Something that sets me apart from others is that i’m true to myself. I always make sure i write down any creative ideas that i’m thinking or want to do in the future so that i could always go back to it and achieve that goal. If you stay true to who you are and who you want to be in life you could achieve anything you put your mind to. I’m most excited about seeing different people in my eyewear, also seeing there photos of them at different places and showing there creative side in my sunglasses. Regent eyewear shoots to be a very diverse business to where we show love to everyone. I got to where i am today by staying consistent and putting my goals first. Choosing a creative career gave me the ability to want more in the entrepreneur field and actually being able to enjoy being in it because i can create my work based of how i feel and the things that are going on in today’s society. It wasn’t easy getting to where i am today. There definitely were fails and and challenges that i had to overcome. I just had to teach myself to keep pushing through. There will always be a light at the end of a tunnel and hard time and challenges won’t last forever. Some lessons i’ve learned along the way is always plan things accordingly, the more you plan things with your business and knowing exactly what your next step or plan is, the easier your business will be. Always have a plan b and never get too comfortable! I want the world to know Regent eyewear is coming to conquer the world. We’re your new fashion trend and we want you to feel as confident as ever in our frames. Always remember that “HEAVY IS THE HEAD THAT WEARS THE CROWN”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being in Atlanta there are plenty of places you could go to for a good time. If i had a long week and wanted a night out i would most likely go spend some time at Slingshot for a fun time to play games and have a drink and vibe to some music or either Fins and feathers for a good meal and a hookah! For a calm, fun night i would visit IPIC movie theater. I love a good movie theater that serves food while your watching your movie and a good drink!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Someone who kept me going and gave me the encouragement for me to keep going is my dad. Even though my dad passed away when i was only 7 months, he played a big part in my life. Knowing that he isn’t here to see my achievements and hard work in person i know that he is always here with me spiritually by my side watching it all. Throughout my life i’ve always looked at this one picture of my dad holding me at the zoo with these dark lens shades on, to where you couldn’t even see his eyes. I thought it was so funny, i fell in love with that picture and had a thing for sunglasses and shades since. My father was only 22 when his life was taken from him. He’s someone i think about everyday and someone who keeps me going and helps me to always keep positive energy and thoughts in my mind. I started Regent Eyewear because of him and i will continue to make him proud!
