We had the good fortune of connecting with Quashanta Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quashanta, how do you think about risk?
I always thought that anything worth having, would come after taking a major risk or sacrifice and that’s how I started Quashanta’s Signatures! I was low on funds, faced homelessness, sacrificed time away from two (out of 7)of my children and used $20 I borrowed to buy my first set of jewelry tools and wire. So grateful that I trusted myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always been a trendsetter, never eager to fit in, so creating a brand that focuses on the individual’s ability to stand out and be authentically themself again was my original concept. Much like my purpose as a Self Love Discovery Transformational Coach, I have compiled the two and created something that is incomparable to others. What’s exciting about this is the joy I see in their eyes, knowing that their designs are intuitively designed for them!

Being grateful is what allowed me to get where I am today, being patient with my progress and doing so without comparing where I am or where I think I should be to others. It hasn’t been easy, especially in the beginning, not having all the tools I needed to create certain styles, being consistent regardless of what friends and family believe. “I’ve learned that relying on others to swim my waters will never create waves,” meaning that I’ve learned to self promote as if I have BEEN on and others are just realizing it! The world will know that Quashanta’s Signatures isn’t just a jewelry brand, it’s a covering, a covering of real love and pure energy. The spark one needs to ignite the flame within and remember to stay lit regardless of where they are in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place is home! Lol However, I would love to take them to my favorite crystal shops in Atlanta and Marietta, Piedmont Park is also one of my favorite places to walk with the family. The Bamboo Forest is next on my list! And since my husband is from St. Vincent, we splurge on Caribbean foods! Fried plantains and curry goat sounds lovely right now….

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Besides my husband and children who have helped me tremendously during and after my last pregnancy, I love and appreciate them as well as all my first group of devoted customers who not only ordered, yet spread the word to their friends and family about their designs. Their excitement motivated me to keep up the momentum necessary to continue learning more about building a personal brand. It’s an energy based brand, so I emphasize having the proper energy in my daily life and when I design for my beautiful customers.
