We had the good fortune of connecting with Quamay Don George and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quamay Don, what do you attribute your success to?
The most Important factor in my success will have to be my ability to stay true to myself. I have learned to challenge myself and push my ideas to levels that I couldn’t even have imagined. I pride myself on finding new creations. I push myself everyday mentally to show myself what I can do. I’ve always been a trendsetter couldn’t follow trends I wanted to change the standard of how everyone dresses but it’s okay to be who you are. I incorporate my ability to take editorial magazine cover photos with my designs and that increases my success and credibility enormously. With my thirst to create individuality with genuine unique people it has helped in many ways. Never quitting on myself and knowing that I wouldn’t have came this far if I wasn’t who I am today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am very proud of my consistency in being true to who I am. I have never been someone to follow trends I see myself as a trendsetter over all. This journey to where I am now has been very difficult physically and mentally. Many days I question myself and many days I fight off depression. However my whole life I have been an outcast. I never felt like I belonged and now I feel like I belong in my own path of existence. Through it all I continue to create and gave myself grace and didn’t pressure myself to work. Sometimes creativity comes from experiencing everyday life, like, laughter takes your mind from all of the pressure and once you return you can feel free to create whatever

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most likely when my friends come into town we’re probably going to be at an event selling clothes and networking while taking pictures as well. Always mixing pleasure with work because it’s what I love to do. I often head to Publix and look for a good sub. I love the chicken tender sub. I may also have a fashion show which has happened before and it’ll just be a whole vibe and I’ll have an entourage basically.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am just thankful for everyone who has believed in me and supported me through all of my hard times. Most cases I think back to when I was young and my mom helped just be a man and take a lot of respect in making my family proud and not quitting because my mother has never quit. So I feel like if I quit I will be letting myself down and my family. That’s what help me grow. Now I have two younger sisters and I refuse to fail because I want to give them the world.
