Meet Priscille Lors | Makeup Artist, Entrepreneur, & Faith-Based Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Priscille Lors and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscille, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business at first was to make quick money, but later down the line, as I started to travel and experience things, I began to understand what exactly my interests are, so I started aligning my passions and beliefs with my business. I have always had a love for Makeup, but I never took it seriously as a career, because I feared what other people would think of me. I love Makeup because, of the way it makes me feel and the process of it. Makeup grounds me and it allows me to express myself in a creative way. I enjoy making other people feel beautiful while seeing their reactions after I finish a look. Since my teen years in high school, I had the desire to start my own business, I was intrigued by the idea of being a businesswoman and making my own income. Entrepreneurship leaves an open door of creativity, which I am good at. I am exceptional at doing things with my hands, and I have always had many innovative ideas, so I said why not monetize them off? However, later down the line as I grew a stronger relationship with God, I decided to bring all my passions together such as Makeup, & speaking on my faith, so I started a faith-based podcast called “PrettyPurposefulPod.” I decided to mix God, Beauty, and Lifestyle all together so that you can get edified and beautified in one! I also love the idea of including God in everything that I am doing because he is a major factor and center of what I am doing and why I am doing it. God gives purpose and I am all about purpose!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others that contributed to my success professionally today was stepping out on faith and not allowing others and their opinions of what they think I should be doing to affect my decisions. If I did not do any of these things I would not even be here being recognized and noticed for a shoutout magazine interview that will help further elevate my platform. This is only the beginning and start of what I later down the line want to do in terms of my bigger goals and dreams which is using my experiences to help others. I want to relate and speak to others of how those experiences helped me to become who I am today. I also want to use those experiences to monetize off which can help other women feel what both inner beauty and outer beauty truly is. What contributes to your success in anything you are doing is finding something that has a bigger purpose to it and does not only help yourself but can help others get aligned with things you are passionate about. Once you have that you can move forward to be consistent and disciplined with what you are doing and eventually you will see the fruits of your labor. Overcoming challenges was not easy I overcame them with faith.

Outsiders are usually unaware of the sacrifices, time, and money that you must put in. God gives me inspiration on certain things to speak about, and that itself takes time to reflect on, write and deliver to people. It sacrifices and effort to build clientele because you have to consistently post Makeup content, so that your audience can be engaged. Outsiders only see the content that is put out on your page, and they see how great the words you are saying are, but they do not understand what goes on behind closed doors. There were sacrifices made prior to even putting content and my business out that allowed me to have the resources to invest money in what I am doing. In this industry you must always put out ideas, creativity is a gift not just a hobby.

What I want to be, and the world to know about my brand and story, is how it was built was built, which was on the grounds of God, and I want people to understand that when you walk in your purpose, and it was built off of God, that it will stand firm. Your legacy will stand forever, and people will always remember it because in the Bible, it says a man that listens to God’s word is like a wise man that built his house on rock. When you follow through with what God has for and it has been built from God It will stand firm, and people will always remember it. What God builds cannot fall and that is truly what a legacy is. Leaving a legacy is being loving & kind to people while being example to what God wants us to do. This helps to show people something they can always remember and that is how you build a legacy. You build it off your actions, and your character because those are the things people will always remember how you made them feel. You have impact someone through the experience you give them, which is through your words, & actions that is what having a firm legacy built on God is.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot is Dumbo Park. I love the scenery at night and when the sun is about to set, its a great place to sit, think, reflect and relax during the summer. It also has many other different restaurants and activities near by so your able to roam and explore the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I also Wanna Thank God for planting me in Good Soil so that my Seed of Faith Can Grow Abundantly. God gets the shoutout for everything I do because he is the one that placed certain people on my path to help me learn and be cultivated into who I need to be. There are things that I am still learning each and every day so I am grateful for the different people I have encountered and experiences I have had that helped shape my mind better for what I am doing.
