We had the good fortune of connecting with Prestys Miéra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Prestys, how do you think about risk?
Without the proper understanding of risk, also known as faith; we succumb to fear. What if that risk you are afraid to take will lead you to your breakthrough? It’s impossible to view this in the right perspective without wisdom. That’s what makes the very notion of risk scary; the lack of revelation. As I ponder this topic, I can’t help but recall the many moments of risk assessment I’ve contemplated in my life. I’ve traveled outside of the country, moved to a different state and shifted my career path. Based on my assessment, I’ve concluded that my world view has been broadened and I’ve been positioning myself for something far greater than I can hope for or imagine. When I left Ohio to come back to Atlanta, I had no idea how things would workout. I simply stepped out on faith and my life has changed drastically since taking that risk. I have a robust network, opportunities chase me down and I take pride in being prepared for what’s next. There is reward in risk. Please understand that your perspective of the world and how you see yourself in it, is the lens you use when deciding to soar or stand still. The bridge between where you are and where you want to be is, Faith. Which is the substance of those things unseen, yet hoped for. When you combine faith with risk assessment you then become, “about that action”. So my friends, travel, make mistakes, learn from them, relentlessly go after your purpose, be bold, love hard and always shine your light!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art documents my journey and growth. When creating, I utilize the space and time to see myself differently; where I am, but also where I am headed mentally and spiritually. Even during a busy work day, I make time to balance out my schedule for work and play.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great places to eat here in Atlanta, but I will list a few of my favorites. Restaurants: Graden Parc, AptB4, Mama’s Cocina Lounges: Blu Lagoon, Copper Cove, Zari Outdoor fun: Beltline activities, Ponce City Market, Piedmont park Shopping: Perimeter Mall, Phipps, Atlantic Station Atlanta is full of things to do, but this is a good start!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to all the Powerful Women in my family: ones before me, beside me and to follow after me. May we continue to exude love, confidence and grace as we take risks. XO.
