We had the good fortune of connecting with Poshay Holland and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Poshay, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
There will always be an internal conflict wether or not your dreams and passion are worth pursuing and trying to create or own reality. Honestly it all depends on your self discipline, determination, and belief in yourself. For me giving up is not an option, you get one chance in this life to leave your mark on this world, even if you don’t succeed, at least you can say you gave it a shot and in my opinion that’s better than giving up.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music is my form of expression. I have been recording/songwriting sense the age of 14 and through the years it grew from a past time hobby that my friends and I did on weekends, to a true passion and genuine love for being an artist. What separates me from others is that fact that music has always bee a part of my life story, listening to Rappers such as UGK, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and more with my father to listening to Neo-soul such as Kem, India Arie, and Maxwell with my mother. I have a different and unique out look on how music is made and presented to the world. I am most proud of the way I have been able to progress as and artist and not fall into that category of sounding like anyone else I’ve developed my own sound, which believe me took a lot of time and practice. Every time I make something new I’m never content, I’m constantly thinking of ways I can improve my deliver, different sounds to play with and ultimately becoming better each time I record. IN doing so Ive learned to enjoy the simple things and to not look to others for validation. You and only you can be your biggest motivation or your biggest obstacle. I want the world to know that I have a story to tell and one day soon they will know the artist $limPzy
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first I would take them to some good BBQ spots around town such as TDH, Fat Matt’s Rib Shack. Then we would hit some of Atlantas few sites like The Georgia Aquarium, Coke factory, Skyveiw Atlanta. After that I would probably try to show them a few night spots like Sahara, VVS lounge and a few other spots.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother has been my sole inspiration for as long as I can remember. For watching her being a single mother, working, going to school, all while raising a son with Sickle cell. She always pushed me to strive for greatness, follow my dreams and to never stop learning and trying to become a better person, without her I would not be the young man I am today. So she deserves all the credit for my current and future success.
