We had the good fortune of connecting with Pico DaGuy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pico, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is an integral part of my passion and career. Every song I release is a risk of acceptance and approval. Although I release my music in my own comfort, the vulnerability that I put into my lyrics puts me at risk of judgement. I’ve learned to accept this as a part of the creative process.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The aspect that sets me apart from others in terms of my music is my versatility. I am surely most proud of my progression in terms of being comfortable sharing uncomfortable topics within my life. Was it easy getting to where I am now in terms of vulnerability? Not at all. I still find myself having issues being fully comfortable, but I know there is somebody out there that can understand where I’m coming from lyrically. Along the way I learned to embrace the difficult moments because without difficult times there are no enlightening moments. I want my listeners to know that I put my full authentic into my music and lyrics.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from Boston there are a lot of things tourists want to visit, but personally I am an insider. I would rather be at home, watching television or making music. I would probably advise my friend to get some takeout and just chill. If they really wanted to do something I might bring them to a museum or seaport or something.

Diligence Clothing, a clothing brand created by my friend is a great brand and the work that he puts into his business is inspiring.
