We had the good fortune of connecting with Peter Chai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peter, what principle do you value most?
Integrity matters a lot to me because the measure of a person is who they are when they are appeasing the external for validation. Who you are when no one else is watching may be your true, authentic self. Compassion is important to me because it essential to have empathy for the other- to see beyond your self and be as kind as possible.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run my own massage business brand called “White Lotus Bodyworks” located within Oya Yoga Studio in Downtown Alpharetta. I also do mobile massage and have locations in Duluth, Buford, Lawrenceville, etc. It was a blessing meeting the owner Marie-Anne Cassee- she is a gem of a person. I’ve been licensed in massage therapy since 2011 but never took that leap to go out on my own. A wise woman once told me, “Peter, never undervalue yourself, you’re amazing”, and believing in that and in myself has taken me far. The lesson I learned is to go for broke, put your all into something and always do good for others whenever possible- it may come back around, or it may not, but at least you’ll die knowing you’re a good person.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Downtown Alpharetta is awesome for fun in the sun, unique restaurants, and a nice vibe. Oya Yoga Studio (I’m obviously bias) is an amazing place for yoga and good vibes. The best place that comes to mind to take someone is the Shakespeare Tavern, I just love live performances and plays and they are still a hidden gem in the City of Atl! Battle & Brew is a nice place for gamers and Caffe Bean is a lovely coffee place.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to my parents Ing Chai and Nancy Ninhavanh, my brother Jimmy Saely, my massage and anatomy teachers Rick Garbowski and Laurie Craig, and lastly my Jiu-Jitsu teachers: Roan “Jucao” Carneiro, Douglas & Dhiego Lima, and Norman Carlton.
