We had the good fortune of connecting with Paula R. Amor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paula R., Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principles I value the most are inspiration, healing and love. Why? Inspiration allows me to activate individual motivation. Healing psychology, physically and financially is so crucial to the human existence. The love antidote that I am, is what the world has been deprived from and I am that provision. I love being the WHY factor for the rement I am called to.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I speak from the being of being Art. I am a creative director who passionately creates from the inside out. I direct my art from a visual perspective, author, a spoken word composer, music writer, poet, playwright, screenwriter, fashion designer, vocal extraordinair and performer. I am the most proud of my sound and the effect I have on my audiences worldwide. How I landed today as a professional was through dedication and belief in my creative abilities. I can truly say it wasn’t easy to find my place as a professional creative because no one in my family accomplished what I had envisioned for myself. I overcame that challenge through isolation and going within myself for assurance. The lessons I learned is to be “true to you.” I want the world to know that my goal is to be a positive influence.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city and the places I would like to share with my best friend would be.
1. my home which is a tranquil, refreshing and a creative space
2. one of my favorite waterfalls in Lawrenceville, ga
3. nature trails throughout metro Atlanta
4. the Spice House is where we would eat
5. the High Art Museum
6. the Jeju Sauna Spa
7. Atlanta Beltline and East Ponce City Market
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize the trailblazers that are the images I mirror. Salute to Langston Hughes, Nikki Giovinni, James Baldwin, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. Last but not least my two children are a true inspiration and blessing to me.
Ryshawn A. Cousar and Tori L. Edwards you are truly God sent gifts. Also the book that I want to contribute in my total discovery of me was “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho
