Meet paris retana | culinary partner

We had the good fortune of connecting with paris retana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi paris, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
It is Family no questions asked- Running a restaurant with my twin sisters allows us to bring 3 unique perspectives & skill sets to the business; Mildred keeps us focused on eco stewardship & caring for our community. Alicia makes sure every guest receives our GoodVibes & feels part of the LB family. And I (Paris) strive to serve the best Fresh Mex / Good Food possible.
Lake Burrito’s success is a result of our “sibling’s power” to support each other in offering top notch food and an awesome atmosphere to all our amig@s.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Lake Burrito lives by the motto ‘Good Food / Good Vibes’ We are ‘the’ real family-run restaurant run by twins Alicia, Mildred & brother Paris. Our main focus is the well being of our community so we focus on serving awesome quality food, while caring for our guests as family.
We are proud to have eliminated single use plastics despite the extra cost and pushback. Sharing our commitment to a brighter, cleaner future keeps us excited to grow the movement.
Running LB has not been easy, from rising prices, sourcing quality ingredients, using all compostable containers to dealing with the Covid pandemic this has been one wild ride. We thrive because our guests know they can trust us to serve them the best.
We’ve learned how lucky we are to have siblings support & family fun while rolling burritos!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We will def wake up early and hike to check out the view at Indian Seats Mountain! Go get our brisket fix at Sock’s Love BBQ pack the paddle boards & head to Lake Lanier, grill burgers at 2 mile park.
Can not miss Amicalola Falls & getting a caramel apple in Dalhonega on the way back.
…truth be told we would probably spend all day on the lake!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to –
Our Parents Alicia & Alejandro, who instilled the value of always giving our best, doing things the right way & caring/enjoying for our community.
