We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris Bennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paris, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my stand to be completely unapologetic in my authenticity. I mean since I was little I have always had a love for more than just one type of genre and more than just one type of musical or acting opportunity. Knowing that, my family allowed me to venture into formulating who I’d be in the field of entertainment from hair, clothing, all the way to stage approach. In all those things I aim to be just who Paris is so when it catches eyes of fans or others in the business they are drawn to the real me and that’s what real success is.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Thats the question of the hour lol, “What sets me apart from others?’ …. If I had to answer that truthfully I’d say my approach to try any and everything that has to do with my art/industry. I’m always most proud or excited about the crazy ideas I come up with and my execution to see them come to life.
Getting to where I am now in my career has certainly not been an easy road but it’s been one well worth driving on. For me growing up I always knew I could sing and I dibbled and dabbled in the industry super early Broadway show ‘Once on This Island’ as Little Timoune at the age of 9. Sang the welcome song at The 1996 Atlanta Olympics at the age of 8. Was the opener for the likes of Lloyd, Omarion, Etc all in early age. With all of that you’d think for sure music and acting was my route to go but deep down inside for me I wanted to be a Perinatologist. Yes!! I know what you’re thinking but yes I wanted to be a delivery doctor. I had every intention to finish school (I did) and head right on to college to be Dr. P. God and my grandparents had other plans. When it comes to me singing they have always been the “Paris can do anything!!” people in my life. American idol was a no brainer for me to them. Not really wanting to do what they had in mind I placed a bet with them that if I didn’t get on the show I would continue with school and if I did then I would stay in this world of music and acting. And here I am lol!! The show was everything I made lasting friendships better yet family-ships. I also realized it was more then just music and entertaining for me it was my world. After the show I would continue to work but I would also really learn for myself just what some of the industry elders were talking about as it pertains to the industry. I learned how to really stand up for who I am and what I believe musics make of me was. I learned that the industry would love you one day and spit you out the next. I learned that they would always make you feel as though you can never get old cause if you do “THAT’S THE END.” LOL! I learned that tough skin was beyond needed. And that there’s no real such thing as friends in this industry, every business that’s a business has a motive. OMG and let me not forget the biggest lesson learned of them all…. “its not about what you know but who you know!” Through all of the lessons and obstacles the biggest goal was to remain Paris and that’s just what I have done. My goal is for the world to know of me and my story & Brand…. UNAPOLOGETIC existence. Im never trying to fit the crowd or the now. I make music I love to hear and that feels good to me; therefore its believed that in turn the world will feel the same about it once they hear it. I’m not one to shield my lifestyle and the things I go through from having it all to having nothing at all. Any dream worth living is worth every obstacle. So my socials and peaks into my brand are real life. And lastly my world of acting isn’t an act its always real life to me. I aim to bring every character to life by relating each one to who I truly am.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I firstly give a huge THANKS and Shout out to GOD! He has brought me truly through the hardest and darkest of times. Others that deserve recognition is my Grandmother Ann Nesby as I spoke about earlier she has always been one of my if not even before my parents the #1 fan of mines. I can do no wrong in her eyes. My vocal coach Rest In Peace Debra Byrd, though we met only in my teens while on American idol she would become my everyday phone call for vocals and for life purposes. One thing I do no matter what stage I go on, I got it from her, I always say ” Thank You God that They See Thee Through Me.” yooooo I don’t know why she told me to say that every time before I went on stage for the show but I for sure know why now after the many inboxes I get once I do a show or when I share my singing on my socials. I will forever be thankful to her. And last but not least & forever and always my Great Grandmother Shirley Bennett, she has been long left us but I swear every creative space in me is something she would have done or told me to do. She never missed a beat and no matter whether good or bad she was always going to make me feel like a rockstar!
