We had the good fortune of connecting with Omolola Otubaga and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Omolola, what’s the end goal, career-wise?

The end goal for me is AWARENESS.  As a mental health professional, I know awareness is the greatest tool for change.  Mental health is the field of medicine, that has so much judgment and because of that the world has alienated its existence.  At the end of my career, I will be able to state that my brand was responsible for making an impact on the community of mental health through education, experience and exploration. I understand the importance of mental health and its necessity towards the goal of a successful life. The hashtag of the brand will be nationally publicized.

#resettingminds_changinglives

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

MindSet Healthcare, PC is an integrated mental health practice that care for individuals from a wholestic view, not just parts. When the dream of MindSet became a vision, I knew that I had to design a practice that was not only innovative but also courageous. We currently treat clients with mental health disorder through medication management and therapy.  MindSet is not like most mental health practices, we focus on mental health but we discuss medical issues that client have as well, because we know that the two go together whether the disorder of their mental health caused the physical health or vice-versa.  Currently we are working on expanding the brand and we are really excited, because we know that this will bring not only the change that the community needs and the reason behind breaking generational bondages.  MindSet is still flourishing and will continue to blossom with all of the showers that comes its way. We are building a strong team, that will be able to take on the MindSet that will be ready for whatever storm may come its way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I currently live in Atlanta and there is always something exciting going on. I am a person who enjoys activities and exploring new options, so I am always looking at things that require interaction when someone is visiting. There is always something new and exciting on the BeltLine so that would be our first stop, not only can we eat, we could skate, bike ride, and/or people watch, all while we are catching up on old time. There are so many new restaurants in Atlanta so we would go to a different one everyday. Actually, TikTok is very helpful in finding restaurants and activities.  I am somewhat competitive and Painted Ducks is one of my favorite spots to showcase my skills. Little Five Points is also a great area for interaction.  They have so many talented individuals there and the conversations that are sparked are always interesting. Hopefully there is some type of festival in town too, those are always fun. I enjoy socializing and interacting with people because that is how we grow, so going around different environments and meeting with different people in different settings is always interesting.  We will most definitely visit the night life as well. Atlanta has a club that is open every night of the week. I am Nigerian so I am bias when I say, we have the best parties, so it is a must that we find a party, wedding or club.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

It has been two years since I saw my first client and I am so grateful to still be open during this climate. I have a GREAT support circle and because of them, I am still standing. There is one special FRIEND who has been there for me since the beginning and the support that has been given is unmatched. I thank God for their presence even to this day. Our relationship has had its own share of struggles but through all of the storms, their love still prevails. I remember when I first started and I just wanted to give up, they came to my office and told me about the “The Alchemist.” I ordered the book that day and completed it in 3 days, it changed my entire perspective on entrepreneurship. When days become challenging, I reference back to that book and remember God has given US all of the resources that we need to survive but it is up to us to not only find them, but most importantly use them.
