We had the good fortune of connecting with Omar Grant-Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Omar, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks has never intimated me enough to not follow my dreams. Moving to Atlanta and pursuing a career in the music industry was the biggest and best decision of my life. Coming from where I come from in South Carolina, it’s two different worlds, Atlanta is full of opportunities in the music industry. Moving to Atlanta I have gained knowledge and experience that has shown me that I can adapt to any situation in life while pursuing the music industry. If I wasn’t a risk-taker, I would never be where I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a person that is always willing to learn and adapt. I am proud that I always took myself seriously and didn’t wait to be taken seriously. Without my work ethic and persistence I wouldn’t be where I am now. This journey has not been easy, it’s been challenging on me physically and mentally, but empowering at the same time. To help overcome the challenges I face, I prioritize my mental and physical health. I take time to travel, read and listen to music, it’s therapeutic for me. I got here by doing the work, doing the research, believing in my vision, and keeping god first. I will always keep my clients informed and well versed within the music business, it’s important to me that I help them understand the back end.
I want people in this world to know that you can be from a small town and still fulfill your purpose if you stay true to yourself, having self-discipline is a superpower so hone in on your craft. Believe in yourself even if you don’t see the full staircase, make your mark on this world by taking that first step you’ll look back and be further than you expected.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
During the week I would start the day with The Beltline, you can see dancers, singers, preachers and a bunch of art along the way. Beginning at Piedmont Park to show off the skyline, then walk around Ponce City Market and shop, grab drinks from Minero and chicken from Hops. Then head to The James Room for drinks, during the day they serve coffee and pastries and in the back at night it’s a restaurant/bar. On the weekends, Westside Provisions to walk around and go to brunch at Forza Storico for their DJ and mimosas, then Jenis Ice Cream. I would go to Atlantic Station for shopping and their Sunday market, then head to the Trap Music Museum, to give my visitors some insight into the trap music culture.
I have to end the weekend with pizza from O4W Pizza, the best hangover cure.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to start with God for giving me the vision and strength to endure everything that has been thrown at me good and bad along my journey thus far. My wife, Lisa who has been on this journey alongside me since day 1 and motivates me every day. Dina Marto and Adrianne Brown they both saw the greatness in me. The book “All in your head” written by the recording artist Russ has given me endless insight into the business, accountability and manifesting. My Momma, Glenda and twin brother Jamar have always been by my side and encouraged me to pursue my passion.
