We had the good fortune of connecting with Olufunke Faseye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olufunke, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I conceptualize risk, I think about behaviors, habits, and ideals challenging societal norms leading to potential loss, harm, or danger. The loss, harm, and danger could be professionally or personally. The role of taking risks have completely aligned me with my truth, morals, and connectivity to Spirit. I learned how to be vulnerable and courageous simultaneously. The very act of liberation meant constantly being in a space of risk-taking, and I chose to live as those that came before me lived.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
To put it simply, I am a ex-cop turned Priest. That’s a whole magical story in itself, but I currently hold the title of CEO for Modern Ancient Prophet LLC. Although I move with indigenous practices as a Chief Orisa Priest, I also am a psychic medium, shamanic palm reader, and metaphysical minister with a mindfulness certification. I bridge ancient wisdom with modern reality.

I am mostly excited about navigating souls to the best version of themselves though ancient and practical modalities. I got to this point in my life by listening to Spirit, surrendering to my purpose, and being courageous enough to fully embody it with good character and humility. It certainly was not easy. I left a city and my comforts to follow with Spirt had in store for me. I miss my friends and extended family, but when God calls, I had to listen.

I learned that we all have complex binary coding embedded in our DNA. This coding is woven into the stories of our ancestors. In fact, we are pieces of our ancestors manifesting in current reality. Our traumas are complex, our triggers are complex, and healing will equally be complex. The lesson is each door I unlock or trauma I heal, I heal an ancestor as well. I learned this is bigger than just me. Me listening to my intuition and God is bigger than just me. Its about fostering and sustaining a healthy and healed lineage.

I want people to know that if you are being called, it’s not random. Its your ancestors calling you home. Its your guides attempting to activate your soul. It is the elevated soul’s cry to enhance and/or gift you more magic. My story is a true testament of magic infiltrating a very toxic field, grabbing me up, and pivoting me towards my destiny in the most jarring of ways. I need for people to know surrender is needed. The story is surrender will connect you with God, the God within you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We will certainly start with an outside meditation. I found an amazing “witchy” tree at Candler Park to sit in silence and listen to her stories.

Once meditation is done, a quick run around the belt-line gives us sights and sounds to energize our day.

Next up we need food. I will keep it light with a mid-day snack from Sevananda as we stroll around Little Five Points.

I also will take them to my favorite plant shops, farmer’s markets, and nature places allowing for full integration to all Mother Earth has for us.

I will round out the evening with a plush dinner at Rumi’s, Delbar, or Barcelona to have amazing drinks and beautiful atmosphere.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out all the beings that saw me and my Spirit before I knew the magic within.

Shout out to my ancestors for their constant connection, protection, and covering making sure I am in alignment with continuing the work on their behalf.

Lastly, I shout out a loving sacred partner who creates a safe haven for me to be the weird psychic revolutionary out loud.
