Hi Nykeria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wouldn’t say I had a thought process. Growing up I watched my mom build her businesses from the ground up, and I always knew that one day, that would be me as well. I always had an eye for fashion, the latest fashion. I knew that once I graduated, working for someone else was not in my plans. I knew that starting my own business would prevent that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an Entrepreneur and Content Creator as well. Being a content creator and having a decent amount of following on my social media platforms played a big part in my business as well. It helped me generate money for my business, it’s where most of my sales came from. I would say the #1 thing that sets me apart from other entrepreneurs is my marketing skills. My marketing skills are insane! It played a part in getting me to where I am today. I did a 24hr $20 sale on my entire website and made over $40,000 in 8hrs! Was it easy? No. Packing and shipping those orders out was the hardest part but thanks to my family and friends at the time, I was able to get it done. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is, Money management. Never spend more than what you make & invest money to make more money. I want the world to know that, I became a successful business owner making 5 figures at the age of 19, If I can do it, they can to. Never give up.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would visit the Georgia Aquarium, Explore the country’s largest aquarium with over 500 species, a touch pool, and dolphin and sea lion presentations. Walk through the Ocean Voyager tunnel where manta rays, whale sharks, and other marine animals swim all around you.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Someone I want to dedicate my shoutout to, who deserves a little credit and recognition in my story is my mom. I couldn’t have did it without her, she helped me get to where I am today, and I want to give her a big thanks for that.
