We had the good fortune of connecting with Noel Niks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Noel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking sets you apart from most individuals. Majority of people’s careers are where they are because of them taking the extra step that could cost them everything which turns into something iconic but also set them apart because they did the unthinkable! Every time I step out of my home, go to the studio or in life ill never not go ALL THE WAY and do what nobody else will do! Im just uniquely different no rapper is out there rocking wigs in thigh high heels like me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an Artist I’m the “Androgynous Rapper” I would say! Everyday is a challenge to do more and reach to my fullest potential. I will never not give 1000%+ when I get on the mic and when I put on a look! I am the moment and I am going to an ICON in this world. It is hard for any creative to get out there and do what they love especially being gay. We face the hardest criticism and we aren’t always supported by everyone which is okay that only makes us stronger and more aware. Im doing this for the silenced and the unseen Queer human beings to let them know I see you and I’m doing this for US so you won’t have to feel what I felt growing up. I just finished a Pride Campaign for Dollskill and it was so surreal being able to be myself and to reach others out there like me and show the representation of a black gay creative because we need more outlets like that. Im building a brand that will mold this world into something great.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ha! Anywhere in the city of Atlanta is a good time! its so many places to choose from. Places like Midtown Moon, 10th & Piedmont, Cirque, Harolds, BQE, Traffik, Cru, majority all the lounges are nice and have a good vibe & I love love love brunch! who doesn’t love good mimosa!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Im dedicating this to ALL LGBTQ+ creatives in the world! We are breaking down barriers and continuously striving and growing to let the world know WE ARE HERE! We are trend-setters, innovators and more powerful together than apart!
