Meet Niyati Jiwani | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Niyati Jiwani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Niyati, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My decision to start my own art business came from a deep desire to share the peace I experience while painting with others. Art has been a part of my life since childhood, but after returning to painting with renewed dedication, I realized I wanted it to become more than a passion, it became my purpose. Instead of simply creating paintings, I wanted to build a brand that connects people with emotions through art. My atmospheric landscapes are designed to help viewers slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to stay true to my artistic voice, reach collectors directly, and create meaningful relationships with people who bring my work into their homes. Every painting I create is an invitation to experience a moment of calm in today’s fast-paced world, and that’s the foundation on which I built my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is inspired by the quiet beauty of nature and the emotions it awakens within us. I create contemporary atmospheric landscape paintings that blend expressive brushwork with calming color palettes, inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and find a sense of peace. What sets my work apart is that I don’t simply paint a place, I paint a feeling. Every mountain, river, and open sky reflects hope, resilience, and the beauty of slowing down in a busy world.
My journey has not been easy. Although I loved art from childhood, life led me into teaching, design, and later a full-time career while raising a family. Like many artists, I had to rediscover my creative voice and build my art business from the ground up, often painting late at night after work. There were moments of self-doubt, rejection, and learning how to market my work, but each challenge made me more determined to grow both as an artist and as an entrepreneur.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight, it comes from consistency, authenticity, and believing in your vision even when the path is uncertain. Today, I’m proud that my paintings have found homes with collectors, have been exhibited in galleries and art festivals, and continue to connect with people seeking beauty and tranquility. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than landscapes, it’s about creating spaces of calm, hope, and emotional connection. If someone stands in front of one of my paintings and feels lighter, more peaceful, or simply inspired to pause for a moment, then I know I’ve fulfilled my purpose as an artist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I’m based in the Atlanta area, I’d love to show my friend a mix of the city’s vibrant culture and the natural beauty that inspires my artwork. We’d start by exploring the Atlanta BeltLine, visiting local galleries, and enjoying coffee and brunch in neighborhoods like Decatur and Midtown. One day would be dedicated to the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Piedmont Park, where we could simply slow down and enjoy nature. We’d definitely spend a day hiking in the North Georgia mountains or visiting Amicalola Falls, because those peaceful landscapes are a huge source of inspiration for my paintings. Evenings would include trying some of Atlanta’s amazing international restaurants and ending the day with live music or a walk through the city lights. We’d also visit local art festivals or artist studios if one happened to be taking place. For me, the perfect week isn’t about rushing from one attraction to another it’s about enjoying meaningful conversations, discovering beautiful places, supporting local artists, and creating memories that stay with you long after the trip is over.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would first like to dedicate my gratitude to my family, who have always encouraged me to pursue my passion, even when balancing career and family responsibilities wasn’t easy. I’m also thankful to every collector who believed in my work and welcomed my paintings into their homes their trust motivates me to keep creating. I owe a great deal to the galleries that have represented my work and provided opportunities to grow as an artist. Nature itself has been my greatest teacher and inspiration, especially the mountains, rivers, forests, and changing skies that influence every collection I paint. Finally, I want to acknowledge the artistic community, whose encouragement and shared experiences remind me that art is about connection, not competition. Every person who has supported my journey has played a part in helping me become the artist I am today.
