We had the good fortune of connecting with Niyah Imani Jean-Pierre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niyah Imani, why did you pursue a creative career?
“I chose a creative career because it feels natural to me. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved performing, being in front of the camera, and expressing myself through modeling, acting, and content creation. Creativity is where I feel the most confident and happy. I love being able to inspire other kids, share positive messages, and show that you can chase your dreams no matter how young you are. For me, this isn’t just something I do — it’s who I am.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
“What sets me apart is that I’m dedicated, consistent, and not afraid to work hard for my dreams. I take my modeling, acting, and content creation seriously, even at a young age, and I always show up prepared and ready to give my best. My art is about expressing confidence, creativity, and positivity. I want other kids to see that they can shine in their own way too.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had to learn how to balance school, work, auditions, and daily life. There were times when I didn’t get the job or when things didn’t go the way I hoped. But those moments taught me important lessons—like being patient, staying focused, believing in myself, and understanding that every ‘no’ is preparing me for a bigger ‘yes.’ I’ve learned that consistency matters, preparation matters, and having the right attitude can open doors.”

“I overcome challenges by practicing, staying committed, and listening to the people who support me. I’ve learned to keep improving, keep showing up, and keep trusting the process. These lessons help me grow not just as an artist, but as a person.”

“I’m most proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown. I’m proud of the magazine features, brand collaborations, performances, and the people I’ve inspired along the way. I’m also proud of the discipline, confidence, and resilience I’ve learned through this journey.”

“What I want the world to know about my story is that I’m just getting started. I work hard, I believe in myself, and I’m building something bigger every day. I want kids everywhere to know that your age doesn’t stop your dreams—your effort and your heart do. And as long as you stay true to yourself and keep learning from every experience, anything is possible.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
“If my best friend came to visit me for a whole week, I would definitely take them on a fun trip to New York City, because that’s one of my favorite places to explore. There’s so much to do, and it’s full of energy, creativity, and good food—everything we love!

First, we would go shopping in Times Square, because the stores are huge and there are so many cool places to find outfits and take pictures. We’d take a lot of cute photos for our Instagram and TikTok. Then we’d go to eat at some of my favorite teen-friendly spots like Shake Shack, Juniors, Joe’s Pizza, or a fun ramen or dumpling place. And of course, we would stop for desserts like Magnolia Bakery, ice cream rolls, or boba tea.

For activities, we would definitely do karaoke, because I love singing and it’s always a vibe with friends. We’d also go roller skating or ice skating—maybe at Rockefeller Center if it’s the right season—because it’s fun and makes great memories. We would go to a movie one night and probably do putt-putt or indoor mini golf for something silly and fun.

We’d also explore some popular spots like Times Square, Central Park, Chelsea Market, the High Line, and maybe a ferry ride to see the Statue of Liberty from the water. We’d walk around different neighborhoods, try new foods, and just enjoy the city.

At night, we could do Topgolf, Dave & Buster’s, or another arcade-type place to play games and laugh. Every day would be something different—shopping, skating, karaoke, good food, movies, exploring, and having an amazing time.

By the end of the week, we’d have so many memories, new photos, and fun stories. That’s the kind of trip I’d want my best friend to experience with me.”

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“I want to dedicate my shoutout to my grandmother, because she’s the person who first believed in my potential and started me on this journey. She has guided me, supported me, and helped open doors for me from the very beginning. I also want to thank my uncle Matthieu Jean-Pierre for always encouraging me and being a big part of my growth. My mom and dad support everything I do, and I’m so grateful for them. Shout out to my extended village, family and friends. Finally, I want to thank everyone on Instagram who believes in me, cheers for me, and shares my work, along with all the designers and brands who trust me to represent them. Every bit of support means so much, and I wouldn’t be here without all of you.”
