We had the good fortune of connecting with Niqo Sama and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niqo, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor has to be a mix between trusting myself and working hard.

Trusting myself to bring my own uniqueness and originality to the world through my work. Trusting that if as long as I align my actions to my goals, eventually they will meet up.

Which has alot to do with working hard, I think of it like building something, it takes a lot of little steps to create the whole end result. Which also takes consistency , that in itself is hard work, so to me those are the most important factors of not just my success but sort of the blueprint for success in general.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art reflects a piece of me no one else can put together the way I do. I’m most proud of not getting comfortable doing one style of art.

To get to where I am now, I’ve always pushed myself to do things I’m either not good or haven’t done before, until I feel like I’m good at it or figured out my weak points that need to be developed.

There are times were things don’t go as planned or turn out how I wanted. I still always try to learn something from it and add that to my skill set.

My biggest lesson overall is to try whatever it is in mind out until I feel good about it or know what to improve on.

The world needs to know Niqo Sama Arts because it is an example of freedom. I create my work from that type of space , my art is sort of documentation of how I attained, maintained, strive for, my own version of freedom and creativity. That is something I know everyone can relate to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Heritage Art Center of course! We’re definitely going to check out my work on disay. Being vegan, I’m also going to show you Jordan Girl’s Gourmet dogs, Country Life Vegetarian Restaurant and grocery store. We’re also heading to the Riverwalk to hang out as much as possible. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Karen & Heritage Art Center in downtown Columbus, GA.

Heritage Art Center has been this not only for myself but probably many others as well. The art Center is home to many works from different artists of all different walks of life. She gives a space to have your works on display and earn business too. Whether it’s a solo show , pop up shops ,auctions or group showcases, this is a place for artists new and established. Or people who love and collect art.

I wouldn’t have received as much attention as fast as I did without Karen and Heritage Art Center.
