We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki V. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand would be its authenticity. I believe in staying true to the identity of the brand and relating it to the people. Success to me is when a customer is truly happy to wear their tee or sweatshirt with pride. Knowing that my brand is bridging the gap between self-awareness and cultural diversity is a success for me.

Another important factor would be my positive attitude. I try to always see the good in every situation. Seeing things from an enthusiastic perspective, produces positive results.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The named of my business is She’s Mixed, LLC, a women’s apparel company, which was created to empower and inspire women to embrace all parts of their identity. The She’s Mixed brand was founded in 2016 and offers an avenue for women to express themselves and share their culture, without limits. It’s understanding what and who you are – where your parents are from, where you are from, what you have adapted to – and owning it.

Our motto is “Own your mix,” meaning be proud of your nationality, state your identity, share your culture, and embrace your roots. We represent multiple flags from countries around the globe and so, our hope is to promote women unity across all backgrounds. She Mixed apparel can be customized to fit your unique identity. You can choose from many options and select items that fits your style and showcases your personality.

Join us and many other beautiful women around the world represent who we are unapologetically and with confidence.

One of the most important things I’ve learned along the way is to focus on myself. Don’t worry about what others are doing with their brand/business. I feel this piece of advice has helped my brand to stay authentic and successful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am such a foodie so we would have to hit up a nice restaurant. One of my favorite eating spots is called NK Restaurant which is a Caribbean cuisine inspired by multicultural backgrounds. We would also visit Time Square in Manhattan for a festive night.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Since starting my brand, I’ve work with many talented creators who’ve helped me grow and I will always be thankful. To my family, this shoutout is dedicated to you guys. To my husband who has been supportive since starting this journey and to my daughters, who keep me motivated and are the reason behind my focus to be successful.
