We had the good fortune of connecting with Niea Bullock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niea, what makes you happy? Why?
Living makes me happy! Living to me means going through the happy and sad moments of life and learning through it all. Life is a big school full of adventures, disappointments, life lessons, celebrations and challenges. Navigating these all through positive attitude is what makes life interesting. When I know that I can put a smile on someones face, that makes me happy because you never know what that persons been through. When I travel to different countries and explore different cultures that makes me happy too. Life is all about the choices you make, so be smart and make good choices and treat people right, that makes me happy!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I moved to Atlanta 7 years ago from North Carolina and I started bartending to make money on the side. Bartending came at ease for me because I am a people person and I love getting to know people (I can talk anyones ear off). Bartending became more than just pouring drinks, I started listening to stories, encouraging people who had bad days, being a part of celebrations and creating millions of memories as well as relationships. I was apart of a community that wanted to have a good time and I loved being around laughter and smiles. So I decided to start my own business to continue to create memories for the community.

5 O’clock Bar is a mobil bartending business that started from motivation from my support system who encouraged me to step out on faith and do what I love to do! Starting any business is risky and can have its challenges, but good thing I have people in my corner that I take advise from, that motivates me and supports me through the process.

I enjoy learning and curating new concepts for various events and opportunities.
Having a mobile bartending business allows or flexibility to set up anywhere all over the Atlanta community and that’s the beauty of it all to me. Im always meeting new people through bookings and it allows me to use my creativity and collaborate ideas with my clients as well as make their events a reality. I am proud to have a business that brings people together, creates conversations and builds relationships. I am excited for future endeavors for 5 O’clock to grown and connect with more people in the community.

I want people to know that no matter your background, your nationality, your story, your religion, or whatever makes you who you are, humans have the ability to connect in unique ways and that’s what this world and 5 O’clock is all about! So lets Connect! 5 O’clock is not just about concocting drinks, its about bringing people together and making memories!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is so huge and filled with thousands of things to do. I would definitely take them to brunch at Thumbs up, take them to Piedmont park to ride scooters along the belt line. I would stop along the belt line to go to Monday night, and all the local breweries. We would check out high museum and add a little culture and head to the trap museum. Then it would be time for more food, we would go check out Atlantic Station to grab food and do some shopping. On other days I would take my friends to trust park and catch a braves game and eat and drink there too! They also have an escape room that I love to do. Night life in Atlanta is pretty Lit so we have plenty of options from Sivas HookahLounge to Octopus, to Rock Steady to Whiskey Mitress! You definitely can’t get bored in the city!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my support system that has helped me get to where I am now. My cousins Kim and Franklin that believed in me from the beginning and gave me nothing but motivation along the way! My friends who continue to push me and constantly remind me that I can do anything I set my mind to. And last but definitely not least, My boyfriend and best friend PT that is always by my side every step of the way. He always gives me advise and shows me ways I can be sufficient and professional.
